Odd problem with liteon 74850c (havnt erased or anything)

Post by bigmupps »

hello all, hope you are healthy and wonderful etc, i am very new to these forums but am in desperate need of help;
i bought a pre-mod x360 console a while ago, and have only just got the courage to try relashing with LT 1.7, however, after getting my case apart and following the tut from jungleflasher, my drive will not open/close and wont be recognised by windows.
what i have done so far is this:
1-turned off pc
2-inserted sata cable from pc into drive
3-powered on xbox
4-pulled power while tray was closing to get into vendor
5-replaced power and turned on pc
6-opened junglefasher and looked for drive, not there
7-rebooted and tried plugging in sata after windows has booted, still no success
8- and now my drive wont be recongised/or even eject etc

sys info tell me if i miised anything vital

-i have a liteon 74850c which was pre flashed with ixtreme 1.51
-running windows 7 ultimate 64bit
-got latest jf 0173
-mobo is gigabyte ga-ma770t-es3
-console mfr date 2009-02-05

if i have missed something tell me and ill post it

xx

EDIT:
i do not have keys.bin etc because i didnt get my pc to recognise the drive even before this happened. ive read alot that says this means i am buggered. surely not as i have not erased or anything at all yet?

Sata is onboard, not sure about chipset as I'm not currently at home, drive powers on in 360 but laser doesn't do its turn on wiggle and eject button does nothing except make the front led flash for a fraction of a second. I've tried manually realeasing the drive and putting both original and backup games in and it does nothing at all. Disc commands through dashboard does nothing either.

Cheers

Its weird that it would lock up without erasing, what steps did you do? Do you have your jungleflasher log?

I literaly did what I listed in my first post, didn't do anything in jungleflasher after opening it and seeing that it only recognised my hdd and floppy so didn't bother to save logs. Io64 driver is working properly etc.

have you grounded the xbox matal case to the pc case, when using the xbox as the power source you need to do this. you mite have damaged the drive from static electricity, if you have and you cant recognise the drive then you may be fuc**d im sorry to say mate

Static is always a poss since I have nowhere uncarpeted, but I did take the cheapskate precation of touching the metal casing of the xbox at the same time as the inflow pipe on my radiator. Didn't think about that tho darn. Is it easy to get drive replaced/recover keys somehow if this is the case? Really don't wanna buy new box :(

EDIT: and I really feel I shud say thanks for the quick replies and no flaming for being a noob etc which seems to be the bane of most forums.. sorry for my terrible spelling etc I'm typing on a g1 keyboard and the keys are too small for my fingers.

He probably has your key, you should e-mail him back.

If he has your key and there IS something wrong with your drive, he will probably put in a replacement, and you'll be good to go.

that does seem like a key to me coz its way too short lol best option now would be to send the xbox back to the sell and let him deal with it, he may have the key backed up :)
