Having probs with 6421A
Hello all, I am new in this process so heres what I am trying to do. I am using(trying) jungleflasher 1.73 beta to install iXtreme LT 1.1 on my BenQ drive. I ordered a 6421 chipset installed it and windows XP PRO recongizes it fine. But it will not read the xbox drive. I have installed PortIO32 and Net Framework v2.0 both said they went through fine. I also have numerous tutorials on how to do this and feel pretty comfortable, but I can't get started. Any help is greatly appreciated, and if this isnt the right place to post I am sorry but I couldn't find a better place to post. Thanks in advance Hotrod

remove the drivers for the card, theres a tutorial in the tutorial section that will show you how. make sure you are using the sata port that is closest to the front of the pc on the card

Re: Having probs with 6421A
Ok. My card is a bit different. I only have 2 sata outputs, and they are on the top of the pci card. I am using the one closest to the processor. I have a video card installed above it but sata card is in the second slot(3rd if you count pci-e).Could this be a prob? Also i tried the uninstall driver thing but cant find the tutorial anymore. I went in sys32 and deleted the viamraid driver, resstarted and it still didn't read it. Is this what your saying or am I way off track. Thanks

Re: Having probs with 6421A
could you show us a picture of your card? the card will reinstall itself if not properly uninstalled, go into device manager and make sure a yellow ! sign is next to the card

Re: Having probs with 6421A
I figured it out I had a brain fart and didnt click the "via ports only tab". For anyone else having probs I used JF 1.73 beta and iXtreme LT1.1 and bought a via 6421A card The drivers are screwy but when windows(I used xp pro) sees it go into sys32-drivers-viamraid. Delete the driver. I read to restart windows but when I tried nothing. I went ahead and flashed my benq(dont forget to click the via ports only tab) and go thru the rest of the steps. cofree had a tutorial i used here in the tutorials but i lost the link. Anyway not only was it a success but I re flashed my other xbox with a 1.5 iXtreme firmware and a benQ and didnt have to do the half open trick. I dont get it but it took. So thanks for the help and in the future I will try not to be a complete noob. But I havent flashed a 360 in 3 yrs and it was all different then. Hope this helps someone lost like I was. later on Hotrod
