Messed up drive??
My friend contacted me with a problem saying that his drive wont read discs anymore. It just says "Play DVD" It will eject and everything works. He has a samsung drive. Is it possible to buy a new drive and switch the board in them? Any other ideas? thanks.

Re: Messed up drive??
Its not the board, its the laser.
You can try cleaning it, or pot tweaking. If you pot tweak you need to be very careful, and if you do it, usually your laser will die again.
Best thing to do is swap it with another drive, or just buy a new laser.
(It may be the board if he tried to flash it and it went bad)

dont get a samsung to replace it, get another brand, i would go for benq, they are more reliable, have a look on ebay for one, search for "xbox 360 benq drive"

Yea, I guess that works too.
