I've had the drive for a week, backed up the latest games fine, because the cd's are still clean, the issue is when i backup my old games, it has a light scratch, plays fine on the system.
When I do the read/rip from the Samsung Kreon drive, at about 4%-30% into the game, depending on the games I try to backup, I always get the error message "cannot be read" and/or "fill in sector w/zeros" to go on with the ripping.
Is this a common issue, anyone else experience this?? any tips?
I'm using the latest Kreon Firmware which is 1.0 and XBox Backup Creator 2.8.

oh ok, again, it doesn't have to do with any copy protection sectors on the cd, but just the condition of the cd itself??CoFree wrote:all i can tell you is to clean it good.

if you have got it to dump even one 360 game then the sh-d162c dvd drive should be fine
all 360 game (so far) dump the same and will dump with that drive.

Re: Samsung Kreon Dvd Drive Very Sensitive To Lightly Scratch C
CoFree, do you know if this would work to fix the game discs that have the big scratch that goes all around the disc...from having moved the 360 while the game was playing?CoFree wrote:all i can tell you is to clean it good.

From what I understand the resurfacers do better on a scratch that goes across the grain as opposed to with the grain of a disk. The grain being the direction that the grooves flow.

I hear ya. BTW, these "resurfacers"...do they all only work for so many discs (like 6)...and then need to be replaced or new "heads" need to be put on them?

Re: Samsung Kreon Dvd Drive Very Sensitive To Lightly Scratch C
you do have to replace the wheel sometimes.
im not sure how often
