Jtag drive flashing help

Okay now I have this xbox that I jtaged without checking the DVD drive before jtaging it come to find out it had the open tray error. I went on ebay and purchased a new drive, got it in and switched the boards out of the old drive to the new drive and got the same error. Now I'm no drive expert but this seems to me that the old board is bad. when I use the new board, it reads the game but tells me to put an xbox game in or something like that with Chinese writing on the bottom. I have the old nands and DVD Keys but I have no clue how to flash the drive and repair it. This is why I'm here asking you what programs should I use and how hard is this actually going to be? I have a usb to sata cable but no drive flashing software. The drive info is a Hitachi Rom Ver 78FK

it sounds like the drive as a bad flash in it
being it a hit dvd drive
do a restore on it
and see if it works
if not it has the wrong key in it
and you will need to reflash the key also

if it does work then just flash with the lastest v78 firmware

i dont see where the jtag should have anything to do with your dvd drive and/or firmware in it.

What programs do I use and how do I restore it? Will I still have to switch the boards out or can I use the new one.

as long as tye pcb board is good
just use that drive
use jungle flasher to do a restore on a v78 drive
this should help
but use the latest jungle flasher

Is there a USB tutorial? This isnt working for me. I tried all kinds of different things all day yesterday literally ALL DAY !! This is frustrating to say the least I know I can do it. Well I'm gonna switch over to my sammy drive and try this on one of my other xboxs.

you cant use a ubs to sat on the v78 and v79 dvd drive
