Reflashing my xbox liteon,whats best way to go?

Hi guys i have been away from the flashing scene for awhile now(over ayear since i flashed my drive)
the model of my drive is DG-16D2S rev 74850(one of the first liteone or maybe it was the first that nneded that sphere to stick into the right place to get the key.
i think my drive is flashed with iextreme 1.6(i dont think it matters but just for info)
anyway, i never play online or plan on playing online.
everything is working fine,except that i am starting to get annoid from using that activate.iso disc for every game i use(all those new waves) and i finally have time to mess around with it(ofcourse i dont want to break my xbox drive in the process)
what is the best easy safest way to reflash my xbox liteone drive to some latest firmware where i wont need to use the activate.iso anymore?
and what firmware do you recomend upgrading to?
(i can get any os , i still have my dummy,binkey files for this drive and i have the via card from my previous flash so anything you recomend i can do)

would appreciate your expert opinion on this

connect up the drive to the via card using the port closest to the front of the computer, get the latest version of jungle flasher and ixtreme LT 1.1 for lite on 7**** drive, put the firmware in the firmware folder where jungle flasher is located, open jungle flasher with your drive powered in half open mode, go into the dvdkey32 tab, click dummy from ixtreme (no need for spere because you have already flashed!) once dumped the key and the rest accept where it says autoload ixtreme, check the keys then to make sure they are fine (i know you have already got the keys but its just to make sure it is wtill fine) save the firmware, go into the mtkflash32 tab, click lite on erase, power drive off in quick succesion, click write, wait for it to flash in seconds, DONE!

by the way since this console never connected to the internet i nticed the nfo for lt 1.1 says apply all system updates before flashing
you think i should do anything before or it will be fine?(i just apply the updates that come with games,like the dashboard update thats it)
one last thing, i use the ffiles on the root of the lt 1.1 right? what is that other subfolder called lite on orig?

well if you have played a game that has been released recently like ufc 2010 then you proberly already have the latest updates, as for the LT 1.1, the lite on orig folder is the lite on original firmware, ignore this folder, only use the other files within the LT 1.1 folder

Today,
i had time to mess around with the drive flashing/updating
and here are the results/problems
first i took an xp machine
physcally installed my via card(the one i used before) uninstalled the driver from device manager and deleted the driver from c:\windows\system32\drivers.
took latest jungleflasher 1.67 beta 4 and the lt 1.1 for 78XX inside the folder.
(didnt install portio32)connected the drive power on ,power off closed it half way power on.
opened jungleflasher at first i got freeze of the xp machine and jungleflasher didnt even get to open.
then moved the connectivity kit to its own power cord and it opened ok(the jungle flasher) but i now cannot see the drive.
do i need to install portio32(i wasnt able to cause didnt see any inf for it inside the jungleflasher directoy)?
i saw a remark on jungleflasher guide that says this:
"If your Drive has been previously flashed with iXtreme LT – then you will no longer be
able to use 74850C or 83850C v1 or ‘Dummy-from-iXtreme’ methods to retrieve
Dummy.bin! A full dump can still be performed using MRA method CLICK HERE"
i only used iextreme i think 1.6 back then so i think im good.
i cant even get to the first phase of getdummy from iextreme.
any ides why i cant see the drive?

re-check your setup, make sure your sata cable is not faulty, had one go faulty on me, it seen the drive but couldnt read or write to it, then eventually it stopped seeing the drive at all, the smallest things can be the problem

noticed the ck3 driver wasnt installing right
ill install a fresh xp install with sp3 and .net 2.0 then ill try again

for some reason same thing happened again
installed xp from scratch
via is identified as raid controller no driver at all
installed ck3pro drivers
installed .net 2.0
ran jungleflasher the whole pc freezes before i even start jungleflasher
so im thinking its something with this screwed up pc maybe it has alot of other issues
can i use windows 7 x64 to run everything(jungleflasher)?
do i still have to remove the via drivers on windows 7 x64?

i use my main computer running 7 x64 with disabling driver signature
worked like acharm
thanks again for the pointing me to the right place
it turned out that the drivers for the ck3pro were buggy once i downloaded the latest ones from forum
all worked fine(im guessing that was the problem in xp)

Hi all!

Sorry to jump in here but I was reading this forum and it seems to have hit my question. I'm as green as it gets, self teaching as I go, made my own connectivity kit, flash went bad but I am back on track thanks to you guys. But now, after I "backup" a game it goes only to the xbox startup screen, I can play originals however. Noticed the "activate.iso" mentioned and I believe this is a detail I completely overlooked. Can someone throw me a bone on what to do and/or point me to the right direction?

but
you should just update to the latest firmware for your 7000 liteon,it does not need the acto iso disc to load games.
LiteOn_iXtreme_LT_v1.1.rar is the latest firmware out
