bad flash

Post by dumascal »

I messed up big time on flashing a benq drive though i flashed many drives before its just been a while since ive done one and was not really paying attention. here is the scope i have a via raid card that works fine i put the ixtreme firmware in the source target after unlocked the drive and also put the same ixtreme firmware in the the destination target and spoofed them that was a big mistake i knew but was not paying attention. It read the firmware erased it and wrote it to the drive now i can only get the play dvd notation when i turn on the box now. i tried the usb repair dead drive tut on here but that dosent work cause the drive is not completely dead, when i hook the drive back to the via card and turn the switch on the drive automatically opens open even without hitting the eject button and to close i have to turn the kit off and manually close they tray and while the drive is open it makes some noise like there is a disc being played inside. any help any suggestion would be highly appreciated thanks!!!!

if you still have your original firmware just reflash with the original. if your drive is to messed up to do this you could buy another benq drive and flash that with your original firmware then go through the modding process again with a ixtreme flash

You dont need a new box as long as you have the ofw with a good key in it.

Sometimes drives are bricked, but other times they are just kind of locked up and you need to play with them a bit.

Try using dosflash to erase then write to the drive.

At the end of the day if you dont want the headaches of fussing with your drive, just verify your key is good, then order a $20 drive from everyones favourite auction site, and flash your key to it.
