BenQ Ix-ltv1.2 - Problem with new games!
Hi Guys
Does anyone have a problem with new release games working on their BenQ with the new ixtreme LT 1.1 or 1.2? I've tried both
The game picture comes up so it can read this far, but when It goes to load it, it says the disc is not readable ie: clean with soft cloth etc..
The game backup itself is ok because I can use it on my Xbox 360 Elite which is a flashed LiteOn 93450, I've tried it now on two different BenQ drives "64930C Nov 2007" and "64930C April 2008" Both are flashed correctly and play slightly older games.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

What game are we talking about ?
Halo Reach works.
Halo Reach works.
Robinhoods Playground!
Re: BenQ Ix-ltv1.2 - Problem with new games!
sounds like your media is producing DRE on older drives. DRE = disc read error.
you can try adjusting the potentiometer or just different media

Thanks for the quick response Guy's.
At least I know that it's not the firmware so I can now move on to replacing my media and try that!
The Games in question were "Halo Reach, Fifa11, and the new Medal of Honor" which by the way all work on the flashed LiteOn's, this is why I thought it might be the firmware, but what your suggesting makes sense because not all media types are supported by all DVD drives anyway!
So just to say a BIG thanks again for the quick response's. I really appreciate it!
PS: I will let you know how I get on when I've replaced the media!
Keep up the Good Work!

Hi Cyantific
I have tried 4 different sorts of media now including the Verbatim +DL and the -DL DVDs and none of them work!, they all still work on the LiteOn's no problem so it isn't the media!
Could you possibly direct me to a tutorial on adjusting the potentiometer, because to be honest I don't know what that is, and if not could I just buy a LiteOn DVD Drive and flash it using the Key from the BenQ?
Again Thanks a Million for All Your Help!

we will try to get it here (giving credit where it needs to be)

You could just get a new drive pretty cheap and get rid of the problem for good

Re: BenQ Ix-ltv1.2 - Problem with new games!
Well Guy's
just to let you all know, so nobody has to go through what I have gone through that I have got it sorted!.
I feel so stupid now because all along it was a burn/Drive-make and speed issue!
Until recently I have burned all my games on my intel based Mac using VMWare Fusion's Virtual "Windows XP Professional" and an Apple supplied "Matshita UJ846 DVD Drive" @ x2.4 Speed using "Clone CD" - But unfortunately my drive gave up!
So I got myself a Toshiba laptop which had a "Samsung DVD Drive" Even though I used the same burn speed "x2.4" the games would not work on the "BenQ" but had no problem on the "LiteOn's" The BenQ Drives are obviously very sensitive.
I have replaced my dead mac drive with a "PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-111D" which works every time, with any media that I throw at it, which includes "Verbitam, Maxell, and even Tesco's own brand. Only all the "+R DL" worked and none of the "-R DL"
So may I conclude by saying a great big THANK YOU again to all who helped in this thread!
