JF "not responding" while flashing Hitachi 47

Post by he-man »

Hi, I trying to flash my Hitachi drive but get the "not responding" error when I try to put it in mode B. Everything regarding the VIA card drivers and PortIO32 has been done following the JF tutorial. I'm on Windows 7 and even tried it while my AV software has been disabed.

Any advice?

xp would be the first thing i would think to try
but also if you could come up with usb to sata that may work also
and it would not have anything to do with the via jungle driver crap

Quick question and it might be a stupid one, please keep in mind that I've not flashed a Hitachi before.
I'll be using a CK3 pro to get it into mode B and was wondering if there are any other flashers for Hitachi drives? I'm having a hard time getting results with Google.

Thanks.

have your pc off
hook up the ck3 and put the dvd drive in mode b
start the pc
at the loading xp loading screen
when the bar it going across over and over
open and close the dvd drive 4 or 5 times to help the drive mount to the pc

after xp gets started then open jungle and see it you can find it
also have a look in your device manager and see if it did in fact mount to your pc
if it did then its there you just have to get jungle to see it

I have had problems on windows 7 getting the drive recognized. What i did was put an original game in the 360 drive, when in device manager I clicked the Action button and under that I clicked "scan for hardware changes". After this it was recognized by both windows and JF. I hope this will help you too!

My problem is not that Windows 7 does not recognize it but that JF keeps freezing when I try to get in Mode B...

Have you flashed any drives before on windows 7? I know lots of people have, but personally, I still suggest using XP.

You might also need to run JF in compatibility mode for windows xp. If its jungle locking up and not windows, then try compatibility mode.

I've done all my flashing in Windows 7 with now problems. Mind you all the drives were Liteons.

Thanks for that, I recently had to rebuilt my PC and I might have forgotting about the Compatibility Mode...

I'll let you know how I get on!

EDIT:
I hate being defeated but I give up! Now it is official, I HATE HITACHI DRIVES!!!
