Is the drive dead!

Hello everyone,

I hope this message finds you all well and ready for a great feast!

To the point of the post, I am trying to figure out if my sammy spoof drive is dead or not....(zombie moaning)

For the past few months the drive has been making some odd noises as if something slipped inside and it had to recent the disc place and start again. Just yesterday I left my father a WW2 airplane shooter (original copy) and left to work. I should have looked at the disc load up first to tell him to cancel any updates that the disc was requiring but it did not dawn on me. I return home and much later in the evening I load up my copy of reach. The disc is recognized by the console (image and title information) and then it starts up. Reach goes as far as loading the intro cinematic and now reports (unreadable disc) and returns to the dash board. Reach has been installed onto the hard drive for quite some time, to give the disc drive a break, so I am a little concerned. My dash now reads version 2.0.8955.0 which means nothing to me seeing as I have not updated the dash since the release of LFD2.

Question: If there was an update could it kill the drive?
What is the new FW for sammy drives?

the last firmware for the samsung drive is
ixtreme lt v1.o

in last years ban wave
they disabled the ability to play games from te HD if your console got banned

Thanks for the heads up. I flashed the original LT with version 1.0 being as there is yet to be a work around for older titles with the newest LT FW. Everything is working fine now but my copy of reach just randomly does not want to load. I am going to see about checking my x values but as far as I can hear the titles that I have installed to the HDD are still playing.

What this proves is that the sammy drive is still operational and I will be updating it soon.
