J FLASHER AND IPREP

OK GUYS QUICK QUESTION CAN I BUILD LT+ FIRMWARE WITH J.F AND THEN USE IPREP TO WRITE THE FIRMWARE JUST DONT LIKE J.F FOR FLASHING

This what I wanna do but dont know how it be done, Like to get my key id just load any old FW into iprep and read the drive as if its not been flashed before, Go to backups and copy and paste the OFW.Bin to desktop, But its from here Im lost, I presume youd build it in JF then put the CFW.Bin in the prep backups in replace of the other CFW. Then just boot up in Iprep and write the CFW. I may be wrong I dont know. Theres only Coffree helping us with this but he in the States so wont be back on till later.

Depends on which firmware you have already on the drive. If its pre-LT yeah dump the drive, use jungleflasher to build the new Lt+ firmware, rename it to Lit-cfw and copy back onto the usb stick to finalise the flashing with iprep (skip the dumping bit as you've already created the cfw so go straight to the flash). However if you have Lt on it you can just make the firmware with jungle and do the above if you have your dummy.bin etc saved somewhere. If not you will have to cut traces and solder to do the mra hack to dump the key.

Awesome Dale is here, You helped me the first time from not having a clue and all went well, Im sitting here keep clicking on my posts to get some help.

Right I have 1.61 on the drive ( 7 Series ) So I can create a bootable drive with any old FW loaded, Go in read the drive. Grab the OFW out of backups folder, From here could you give me step by step info on what I need to do from loading up JF to putting it back into backups ready to flash.

Will it just grab the OFW still even though its got 1.61 on ? and do I need to use the probe again ?

Just a clear step by step is all I need for those parts and Im all good.

Quick update, I used Iprep 11.6 and loaded ix 1.51 as I tried loading 1.61 but wouldnt load it, 1.51 loaded fine. Its read the drive, all green successfull and now I have about 5 files in the backup folder IDENTIFY, INQUIRY, KEY, L74CFW and L74DUM.

I just need to know what exactly to do from here, Like step by step if possible.

ok need confirmation here, i have built my new lt+ firmware with the latest j.f i will be flashing with iprep 12 beta its a 8 series v1 do i rename this firmware L83CFW OR LIT-CFW when i put it back in the folder

it will have to be renamed
but im not sure what name iprep will be looking for
if you try it and it dont work
iprep should give a error and say something like "....what ever name.... not found"
and that would be the name you would have to name it

I still dont know how to create this FW in JF, Dale said you call it what you said gazza but Im still unsure where exactly to put it, do I put it in backups folder and delete all those 5 files I dumped. Thats why Im asking if someone could kindly post step by step instructions so I could follow easily without needing to ask loads of questions.

1, How do I create this FW in JF, Ive not used JF before so vague instructions I carnt follow.

2, Where Exactly do I put this created file into iprep stick.

3, Then once I got that I just go in Iprep, and write the FW.

I dont have an OFW file either as it had been flashed before so theres a CFW file in backups and another one in a CFW folder. I loaded the CFW in JF and I auto loaded the LT+, Now I notice everything matches but because I used the 1.51 FW to load in iprep just to grab the key it says that 1.51 in JF, Does this matter or does it just need the key ?

Right everything matches up, I have a CFW folder in iprep stick with L74CFW, I saved the created file out of Jungle Flasher and its called Lite_CFW, So Im presuming the L74CFW file can be deleted and the saved file from JF can be renamed to be L74CFW and put in place of the one I just deleted. Thats how Im gathering it anyway. Then I can just flash right.

Tried this, It erased the drive everything failed, I kept sending the MTK intro thingy and in the end it said press esc to abort, I did and it said success in green, I thought my drived was done. I loaded a backup of black ops and F1 2010 and is fine, PHEW ! I tried a backup of NFS Hot Pursuit and just says play DVD.

I dunno what I need to do here, Some help would be greatly appreciated.

I just did mine last night. What version of iprep are you using? I used JF to create the FW used IPrep to flash NFS working fine on new dash,PM me I can kinda walk you through it and if needed I can send version 12 to you to use works great.

its a lot of info to read but if you dont mind, iprep and the dos folder is the only way i do it after making a cfw using jungleflasher my old posts should put you right

Thanks CoFree just like to add change the file from LITE_CFW IN MY CASE TO L83CFW FOR THE 8 SERIES L74CFW ETC FOR WHAT EVER DRIVE YOU HAVE. THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP EVERYONE
