The cable work's fine for as many uses as you want, its just a sata to usb adapter. What it does is take the data and wipe the original HDD. So most people can only use it once.
To transfer all your stuff just plug in a usb stick to the xbox, copy all your game saves profiles etc to the usb hard drive, then plug that into your slim console, and copy from usb to the internal HDD.
All your download's IE: Map pack's theme's, gamer pictures, add on's etc can all be downloaded again through xbox live. If its paid content just login to the gamertag that purchased it, and redownload to your console.

When you run your games through abgx, you want it to read: ssv2(Trusted). Games like NFS should say something about AP25 being patched in.Then you know your games are good to go.
