benq drive not been seen

I am very new at this...my bios see the dvd and i have follow so many different videos but still cant get my pc to see the drive in either windows or dos. so cant get the serial number or backup the drive...i am using blaster360 ne...please can someone help?

I think we need a little more information here. What kinda setup are you using to try and flash the drive? Are you using onboard sata or a card with the VIA 6421a/l chipset? If your using onboard sata, I would suggest getting the VIA card. Are you trying to use iprep? But we do need a little more information though to try and help you out.

Sorry, I have connected the benq via blaster360 and straight onto my motherboard which is using a intel chip set and yes i am i using iprep to get it to work. I have plug it into the first port and it now it goes d1 (once i have done what the instruction have said to do) and it just keeps flashing d1 and does nothing else. The intel chipset is an ICH8/R, could anyone help me with this setup, do I need ro be in RAID or AHCI mode

first i would tell you if this is your first flash to take the blaster out(for now)

Yeah, wait for the card. I tried flashing a benq off an Intel chipset once. 4 hours later, I was still banging my head

Thx for your help guys, all working now! But I have one question...left...I have just flash the the drive with Firmware extreme 1.1 at 12 speed...the big question can I go xbox live with it?

you need the ixtreme v1.41.then you can use what ever speed you want.i use the 12x speed

Thx again for a great tip...i am now running that firmware and running at 12 speed. Does this mean i now can use the xbox on xbox live...i know there is risks...

Yes, if you updated to the 1.41 then you are as safe as you can be. Also make sure your backups pass all the stealth checks and that you are not using downloaded backups if you want to be as safe as possible. Never a guarantee that you won't be banned though.

that is not a good firmware for live.

yes i wouldnt recomment extreme 1.1 either as it is old firmware now. if you want to play online then get ixtreme 1.4 if running at 12x and ixtreme 1.41 if you want your drive to be 8x. there are still chances of getting banned but just be careful.
