A while ago I have successfully flashed a Liteon 93450c drive to iXtreme LT Lite Touch 1.7 using JungleFlasher. I have used Xtractor Maximus, Vampire (a probe) and a Rebuild Board. The process involved cutting and soldering. The original drive firmware (Lite-OFW.bin) is what I have extracted.
Right now, the latest version is: LT+ v1.1 (will allow AP 2.5 backups).
My questions to you are theoretical, as I try to get my head around the theory and the processes involved.
1. To upgrade to the latest, do I need to revert back to original/official firmware?
2. If yes in question 1, do I need to open the console again and get to the drive, and connect the Xtractor Maximus and Vampire again and perform a dump again? I would need to erase the current iXtreme LT Lite Touch 1.7 CFW and write the drive with the original firmware (using the Lite-OFW.bin file) or can I go directly to LT+ v1.1?
3. I am not clear on what is involved in reverting back to original firmware (if required), or to just go to LT+ v1.1?
If I need to hook my drive again, what is required as a connection? Connect everything identically as when the firmware was first extracted (Lite-OFW.bin)?
If I do not need to go to OFW, and can go directly to LT+ v1.1 I would need JungleFlasher and LT+ v1.1 files only? The "LT+ v1.1" would be the SOURCE field in JungleFlasher (by clicking on the "Open Source Firmware"), but what about the TARGET field? What is that?
The rebuild board has something called a Jumper J1 bridge that was soldered. Would I need to unbridge the J1 connection. They say that bridging should not be done until you have read the firmware (ie. I gather they meant until Lite-OFW.bin has been extracted). Now, the J1 bridge is closed.
I am really confused on what is needed and the logic from going to the latest "LT+ v1.1" and would appreciate any assistance. Thank you!
Upgrading from iXtreme LT Lite Touch 1.7 to latest version?

i have not done one of those series drives but if you dumped before and still have the dummy.bin file that is what you want to use in JF as the source that has your key for the drive on it the target will be the LT+ FW then you hit spoof as and it will spoof your key into the LT+ FW save that file and flash that file to your drive I am pretty sure they work the same way as other liteons but dbl check around here and make sure that is how it works.

Deathuntou, the dumped file that I have is just "Lite-OFW.bin" - which I assume is all you need.
I can't recall, but when doing this, I do not need to read things again, nor unsolder. From the sound of it, all I need is to connect the drive to the PCI card, and with JungleFlasher perform a flash, by using the SOURCE and TARGET fields for these two files (the "Lite-OFW.bin" that was dumped from the drive initially, and "LT+ v1.1" as the TARGET)?
So what is happening there when one chooses a SOURCE and TARGET. What is JungleFlasher doing with the "Lite-OFW.bin" when used as SOURCE? It is copying the drive key from it, then writing that to the TARGET?

yeah JF is putting your key into the new FW as the target but like I said all the liteons I have done have been the 74 series and when I dumped them there is a dummy.bin file in the dump and that is what I used in JF to spoof the LT+ Fw

The 93450c generates "Lite-OFW.bin"
I have not seen a dummy file. I read somewhere that "Lite-OFW.bin" is technically a larger file that contains what dummy and other files you see, but as one larger file.

load it into JF as source see if it looks as if it gives a good key
