changing benq drives, please anyone tell me whats wrong ?

I have 2 benq drives one old that is in my 360 and is making noises and occasionally has a problem opening the tray.
The 2nd benq is brand new that I bought on ebay that has never been flashed...here is what I have done.
Read the old benq and stored the keys in jungle flasher, put in the new benq, clicked unlock benq everything fine.
Clicked read and saved key, clicked erase everything ok. opened source firmware benq_CFW.bin (from origional benq),
open target firmware LTPlus-benq v 1.1.bin, spoof source to target, keys are exactly the same. Write goes through all 4 banks no problem, click on outro/ATA reset DONE ! everything goes perfect but when I put in 360 I immediatly get open tray after about 1 second ! What am I doing wrong ? been working on for 3 1/2 hours now ! must be something simple.
help please. both drives are identical and one Im flashing is brand new benq should be no laser or ribbon problems ? confused ?

does the drive play anything
will it play a dvd movie

the only thing i can guess is that you may have got your keys wrong
there should not have been a key on the replacement dvd drive you got from ebay
there is also no reason to save any of the stuff from the ebay benq

i would start over
open the source benq firmware from your old drive
and build a new hacked firmware and just flash it in
no reason to dump the ebay drive

also you may want to dump the old benq again to make sure you did not get the wrong key

thank you Mr CoFree i will sure give it a try ! it seems to go through all the motions properly , just not working in he xbox ? I will also check to see if it plays a movie.

I tried a few more times and It wont even play a dvd, it spins up for a minute like it wants to play but open tray never leaves the screen. When you say open the source benq firmware do you mean the benq_CFW.bin ? and when you say build a new hackware do you mean just by opening the LTPlus-benq v 1.1.bin along with the benq_CFW.bin and flashing ? Is there any need to click spoof source to target after opening source firmware and open target firmware ? I will wait for your answer and I wil also dump the origional benq again to check the key again. Also when the dvd tray opens it only stays open for about 5 seconds and closes on its own. Thanks for all your help.

I checked the dvd key and its good, I wonder if the LTPlus-benq v 1.1 is bad ? because the origional benq is now doing the same thing and it worked fine earlier ? I cant remember where I got it from but it wasnt xbins...what do you think ? time for a break !

i think you dumped the key from the orig drive(good key)
then dumped the key from the 2nd drive(bad key) overwriting the firmware from the first drive
and have been working with the wrong key all this time
the orig dvd drive should have the good key

unless what you just said is you flash it(orig drive) also with that same file(bad key)
if so you may have lost the good key and then its game over if that is what happened

can you give me any steps at all to try ? when I dumped the origional benq the first time I saved to a folder, in that folder I have BENQ-OFW.BIN, , benq-CFW.bin , key.bin.when I dumped the second benq (new) I saved it to a different folder which has the BENQ-OFW.bin I have been working on this so long that I think I am doing all the steps wrong. now I have destroyed 2 xbox's but I know the key is right because I wrote it down and saved it in my e-mail years ago. Is there a step by step anywhere you think i could try ? the old one was working perfect this morning ?

hook the new drive up to pc
open jungle flasher
open source firmware (old benq.ofw.bin firmware)
open target firmware (lt+ for the benq )
spoof to target

then
erase drive, then flash
like normal

that will put a new hacked firmware on the new dvd drive with the orig key from the orig dvd drive that was in the console.

Mr CoFree, I want to thank you for taking your time out to help me today and other times, I also feel like a complete ass !
I have so much xbox stuff laying around the house , was trying to hook up my blasterck3 and for some reason it did not work or power up so I grabbed a sata cord to plug into my benq drive and It turns out the cord was bad so all of the llashing I did all day were all good and it took me 9 hours to sit down and figure out what was wrong. I just hope you dont have to deal with to many knuckleheads like me ! you have always been helpful and patient with me and I thank you for that !
