when the drive is stock you DO NOT have to cut traces
but
you will have to solder the 707 point or use a probe
now the tricky part
ok so you dump your 7400 dvd drive and flash in the latest LT+ firmware
as of that point you would have to cut traces to dump the drive again
but here is the cool part
if you save a copy of your drives dummy file when its dumped you will not need to dump the drive again
it will have all the stuff in that file you will ever need to build a new hacked firmware when a updated firmware comes
out and then you would just flash that in,no trace cutting.
JaWzZz wrote:"all lite on drives you have to cut the traces, for the calibration for the sensor
that is just the dumbest thing i have ever heard
for real that is just someone talking out there ass
he is so full of shit
JaWzZz wrote: if you dont the drive will only last like 6 months or so, then fail"
that also is bullshit
the firmware will last for ever on the flash chip
its no different than if you go to the best buy and buy a new dvd drive for your pc
does it stop working after 6 months :D well as long as its good :D

there are some liteon dvd drive that you do have to cut traces from the start a 83** v2 and the 93** dvd drive
you have to cut

at this point man i think you are dealing with a lair
i dont think i would recommend you getting him to flash your drive

keep in mind that if you get someone to flash you drive they MUST give you a copy of your files that come with the dump
there will be 4 of them the dummy.bin being very important.well all of them are important
the thing is the dummy.bin is made up of the other 3 files.

i dont know if you could trust this jack off to give you your stuff (files im talking about)

ok thanks alot cofree.
so i'm going to pick up the kit but what probe should i get then v1 or v2
v2 has the two pins whereas the v1 has the one pin. Can you pull the key from v2 off R707. (what pin of the two is used?)
Or sticking with v1 for simplicity?

i would just get a ck3 pro v1 because that is what you have
also keep in mind you are going to need a rs232 cable
that is what the info from the dump uses to get in your pc
one like this
http://www.radioshack.com/product/index ... Id=3109713" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
or you can use a usb cable

the ck3 lite does not have the usb option ;)

I don't know if I need to start another thread, but I thought I jump on this one, considering the title - probe or not to probe.
If so, please direct me to the right place and I will post there. (If this question is already answer elsewhere, please forgive me.)

I'm having a real difficult time dumping the key to flash to LT+.

For whatever reason, I get "bad serial" whenever I tried to use the Ck3 Probe to dump the key.

I was able to successfully flash my drive, Lite-On 7 series to LT ixtreme awhile ago, have all of the bin files backed up (Identify, inquiry, key, serial, and dummy) and saved.

My question is, can I take those files, port them into Jungle Flasher and be able to flash my drive to LT+ successfully, or do I still need to probe my drive? Any thoughts or recommendation is appreciated.

Thanks.

Yeah just load JF up use your dummy.bin file as source and the LT+ FW as target spoof as then flash no need to dump as long as you have your orig dump

Cool, thanks. I will let you know how it turns out. :D

Update:

I was able to use the dummy bin and flash to Lt+ 1.1 in JF but did not notice any difference when I hooked up my Xbox360.

I tried ACB and all I get is a black screen? It never times out or gives error message but does hang the system.Everything else seems to the same, At least I didn't brick my drive?

Thanks again for the advice. :)
