Xbox Original Backwards Compatibility List

Post by NeoRio »

Where can the "backwards compatibility list" be found...of Xbox Original games that can be played on the 360? Is it this list posted by MS http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwar ... eslist.htm they mention that a software emulator is required for each original Xbox game you play on your Xbox 360. I take it that if we modify the Xbox 360 with iXtreme 1.4, protocols would be a little different? (But still not safe to play an original Xbox copy on Live?--because of the obvious difference in file/disc sizes compared to 360 games)

That is the list...

I think regarding the emulator required, it's the same for all of them. I'm not %100, because I don't play many XBox games, but since I installed the update, it hasn't asked me to update again.

P.S. Have you flashed anything yet? :D

Ha ha!

The only update you will need is the one off of live and it should play all the backwards compatible originals no prob. I personally wouldn't play backups of those at this time though.

Still waiting for my Connectivity Kit from Xecuter...ordered it nearly a week ago. I've flashed my Kreon drive, I've flashed my Linksys WRT-54G and configured it to give me wireless connectivity for the 360, and I've backed up my first few games yesterday...does that count for anything?

I was trying to grasp the Xbox original games concept...from what I understand, it is not safe to play backups of Xbox originals...only the *originals* themselves.

I don't think it's recommended, due to the difference in disks...

Sounds like you're setup... I bet you're itching now, opening it up and putting it back together :P

Sweet, well thanks so much for the support you all provide! I've opened 3 different Xbox 360s (I think I'm pretty good at it now!)--I've done it about 10 times and I actually started flashing my first Xbox 360 (with a Samsung MS25 drive in it)...I started the dump and got the RROD right then!
