well im thinking you have a v28 not a v38 drive
right?

just to let you know if you spoof in a dvd drive it will not work with the new ap25 games
you need to try and find a dvd drive that is like the original drive

we need a little more info also
was this console stock
,or had it been flash before if it has,
what firmware was in it and do you have a copy of the files that were dumped dummy.bin, key that stuff

the console is stock, i haven't spoofed it or dumped it . i was trying ti get the key so i could load it in the new drive but i don't know how to do it so i was trying to follow the directions from youtube but its just not working. i cant get anywhere with it. i tried to dump but my computer wont recognize the drive(im running win7) so i spent a time trying to get that far before i tried to use the iprep method but even when i tried that it will ask to send the vendor to the drive i say yes to the mtk method and it just sits there even after 20 min. nothing. am i suppose to let it sit longer or am i doing it wrong do i have the wright ixtreme i don't know I'm just getting frustrated with this so i desperately need help.

Yep, ive used windows 7 64 bit to flash.

Its a royal pain in the... you know what. :?

I skimmed through this thread so I may have missed it, but are you on win 7 64 bit or 32? If your on 32 bit you really shouldn't have any issue.

Are you using onboard sata or a via card? Have you ever flashed a drive with this pc before?

Sounds to me like you'll need a via card.

Does jungle flasher recognize the drive at all? Does it say philips lite-on or hitachi or anything on your sata ports? If not you'll need a via card.

Once you get a via card windows 7 will automatically install the drivers and your going to need to fight with windows to uninstall the drivers. I think I ended up installing uniata drivers then uninstalling them and disabling and re-enabling the card a number of times before I finally got windows to not recognize the card and auto install the drivers.

keep in mind that in jungle flasher
has a drop down so make sure you try all the different ports on your pc
be fore you put in a via card

do any thing you can to get the onbo sat work
if on the off chance you have a via chipset onbo
you could be in trouble

keep in mind if you do get to dump the drive save everything
dont trash anything

I think the virtual XP your referring to is windows 7's ability to run an application in a simulated XP environment. Which wont help you here, infact its better to just run JF without any compatibility mode.

Like cofree said your going to want to avoid buying a via card, but if you cant find your drive on any of the onboard ports your going to need a via card. In which case your going to run into problems disabling the driver.

JF runs perfectly fine on windows 7. Only issue's it has are running on a 64 bit OS, because the driver isnt signed. The only other problem people run into is disabling their via drivers if they have a via card. Windows 7 automatically installes drivers for you so disabling is a pain. (This is a windows 7 issue not a JF issue.)

Anyhow right now JF will run perfectly fine for you and there is no need for windows XP. If you are unable to find your drive then your going to need a via card in which case XP would be nice to have. Otherwise your going to need to take about an hour or more and keep messing with the driver trying to basically break it.

OK i got win7 drive signature feature disabled.downloaded JF v1.79. i get the message error could not connect to remote server when i install it. but it will install. i used the Sammy unlock then read the drive saved the firmware but when it asked to load the firmware automatically it couldn't do it so i manually went to the ix1.6 file and loaded it spoofed the target drive (with the tray half open)hit the write button let it write hit the outro button when it was done and closed the apps. turned the x box off disconnected it from my computer. i then tried to play a game but it would say it was reading and the do nothing. can you tell me where i went wrong?
