How do i get my cd out of the cd drive is the computer crashed? Our 98 windows pc crashed. the hardrive (box w/ power button and cd drives and i guess where it stores info) wont turn on. the only way that i know of to eject the cd from the drive is when the computer is on. ive tried pushing the button now, but it wont do anything. please, i need that cd! help!

there should be a small hole that a paperclip will go into and you just push it in
and the tray will pop open
and the tray will pop open

Yep, there is always a manu eject button or slot somewhere.
Your basically turning the gear's manually with a paperclip to drop the laser and open the tray enough to pull it open the rest of the way.
I usually find it easier to just take the top of the drive off and grab the disk. You'll need to open your case and unscrew the drive (or however it's mounted) then remove some screws and pop the drive case off.
A bit more work, but I always have such an issue with the stupid manual eject things...
