last time i was finally going to hack my xbox but stopped because i read in a few days a new update was going to disable modified dvd-drives.

so here i am totally clueless with everything i need but unsure as how to go about (or if a counter measure has been provided already)
what i have;
dismantled xbox that hasn't been updated since late 2010
Lite-on DG-16D2S Rev 7485 drive still attached to said xbox
ck3 pro (Rev. D) + probe II
VIA PCI card
time

i rather have someone give me a definite answer instead of just randomly downloading stuff and attempting on my old based on potentially outdated and obsolete tutorials/guides.

first you need to get a dump of your dvd drive
this guide should help you on your way

and save the files
key,dummy.bin
and the other files
you will need then later
make sure to save a copy off your pc for safe keeping

make sure you use the latest jungle flasher
if your pc has onbo sata
dont use the via card
use a stat port on your mobo

if you have to use a pci sata card
its going to be a pain

the PCI card is on my very old desktop from 2004
besides that i have a netbook (no sata) and my laptop i'm typing from (e-sata)

could i use e-sata? cause if not i don't really have any other option than to use my old desktop. i quick google of jungle flasher e-sata lead to some forums named iextreme and someone recommended the VIA card, why are you so against it?

so i take it its safe and a counter measure has been provided?
