need to update my drive

Hi there
been long time since ihad to do something with the xbox(kids all that:))
so last time i had to flash it was for that dash update for the kinnect
so i flshed it from:
Firmware Osig: [PLDS DG-16D2S 7485]

Firmware is: iXtreme v1.60-12x-

to:
Firmware Osig: [PLDS DG-16D2S 7485]

Firmware is: iXtreme LT 1.1
and all was good
now i hear there is another update that was released that need to flash again to 1.91?
i have to explain i never ever play online and never had(i dont have the time for it and the xbox was never connected to internet and never gonna be) but as i understand that doesnt matter? i still need to flash it?
i dont want to be in asituation where i cant play battlefield or mw in 1-2 months:)
so do i have to flash it?
how to go on doing that?

Your going to wanna download the latest xbox dash off the net first

Then you need to flash your drive back to stock firmware

Then put your drive back in your console, take the update through usb or disc, either way is fine

Then flash your drive with LT+ 1.91, then your done

If you need more detailed info you will have to wait til i get to a computer, im currently using my phone to reply

i figured the reply would be YES you have to do it eitherway(even if not connected to internet)
so now i just have a few technical questions on how exactly i do it(which files i pick and all that)
ill wait for your reply

oh, and i checked i am running this dashboard version: d:2.0.12625.0
(so probably the original kinnect dash update)

You need the drive key. Hopefully you have it backed up from your original flash. Either way, head over to the tutorial section and read up on Jungleflasher.

so first question is
how do i know which orig firmware to choose?
i assumed because im running dash ver d:2.0.126250 i will choose
LiteOn_Pre_13141
and then my drive is 74850c but what do the other a,b,c,e ? those correspond to the drive firmware as listed on the drive?

a second question is do i follow the same procedures for erase as i did originall with jungleflasher(i notice it changed abit)
for example:
last time i did it i connected it tock3 pro power on,off set it half then on again press lighton erase click yes
then yes again and turned power quickly (on,off)that erased it
and then i clicked write to write the new firmware(in this case the original firmware first) and then the same thing with the new one
is it still the same procedure?

im guessing the letter would correspond with the first letter in the hardware version of the drive (you can find it above the firmware version on the sticker), im not 100% sure on this, if you dont use the xbox for live then it wouldnt hurt flashing each of the original firmwares to your drive to see which one works

the lite on erase procedure is practically the same but now you dont have to have the dvd tray half open, i dont put it that way anymore and it works fine

after erasing returning to stock
updating dash and erasing and writing should i use this file>>LTPlus-0225-v1.92.bin ?

also would you say its better to wait for lt 2.0?

Jungleflasher will choose the correct file for you when you dump your DVD drive firmware, go with what it suggests.

I would recommend going with 1.92 for now, then 2.0 when it comes out. 2.0 will add support for games using the new XGDS format, but in the mean time 1.92 will handle everything else.

Moonknight, that firmware wouldnt work with his drive, 1.92 was released specifically for SLIM liteon drives, phat liteon drives are still on 1.91, go ahead and flash 025 1.91 to your drive mate

thanks i almost didnt notice that:)
your right 1.92 doesnt support my drive
guess ill wait for 2.0 since i dont have anything urgent i want to play.
i bet my money battlefield and cod will be that new format anyway:)
so better wait and hopefully flash this thing once(untill something else comes out:))

i flashed to stock(i took the advice that the letter must be first letter of hw/ver)
updated dash
flushed again to 2.0
seems ok can read nba jam, can read original
so the only thing is just verify gow 3 but probably fine
