unrecognised disk

Post by leedo55 »

flashed my friends xbox a few weeks ago and it has been running great
he fetched it back down yesterday to recive the new firmware update.
it is a lite on 93450c.
flash all went well and he took it home
he fetched it back today saying it wont load any games and when he tried to load his original black ops it made a
grinding noise.
i have it in front of me now. it wont even play a dvd. i have spoofed 2 samsung drives into it and they both give the unrecognised disk error also
it turns on fine, no problems with xbox live and games from the market place installed on hd run fine.
any ideas?

sounds like the drive has went bad for one reason or another
it should not make a gringding sound

try to play a older game in one of the samsung drive you spoofed in
you need to remember that spoofed drives for the most part will not play ap25 games
so get a game that does not have ap25 checks and see if the game will play

Is there any way for a spoofed drive to play ap25 games?

not 100%
some game may work other wont
or none will work

the best thing is to get a dvd drive from ebay
that is the same as the console drive
then flash it ;)

With your samsung's in there it should play dvd's 100% fine

they should also be able to play older games pre ap 2.5 so you can try both of those things before buying a new drive.

I had done that already if you read my previous reply. I went and bought a new drive and flashed it and the same message, "clean disc with soft cloth or restart unit", and nothing, still getting the same issue.

Yes it does play dvd and play earlier games but nothing new even with the LT+ 2.0, any info to why it doesn't?

i guess i miss that

if the samsung will play older games the your key is good.
then you are running into a ap25/xdg3 game problem or the new drive is bad.
those games will not work on a spoofed drive
it has to be the same drive
yea,yea,
i see that
but

Yeah the drive that I bought and replaced was the exact identical to what was inside. Don't know if someone else has already spoofed it or what but I went ahead based on what I saw inside the unit.

The problem was of the LT+ 2.0 for the Sammy 943 does not fully work with ap25/xgd3 games. A major fix on drive is on the way to fix this issue, LT+ 2.1.
