hi, the nforce 4 should be compatible with the benq flashing but it might not entirely work. for saving your time get this card which works like a treat and will save you time.

yeah, some people have had luck with Nforce boards, but the card is the most reliable (hence my sig)
try it from the mobo, you can't do any harm trying to get a dump from the drive anyway. Make sure (if you do get a dump) you check the key is unique with FWToolbox. By unique, I mean not all 00000's or FFFFF's. If you can read it, you can more than likely flash it with the same port...

Re: Dosflash32 Mobo/Sata Compatibility ?
if you are careful enough then no you cannot go wrong with flashing a benq as first it makes a backup of your original firmware first before so as long as you have a good key in the firmware and you should check it with toolbox before flashing. the only hard part is from you computer to pick the benq drive up. make sure you get the card cofree recommended and follow the video and you should be fine.

no
you cant hurt the drive by just doing a DUMP/READ of the firmware.
if you get a dump that is you need to stop.boot back in windows , go into the backup folder on the usb flash open ofw file with firmware toolbox and make sure the key looks good.
a good key will have a lot of different letters and numbers in it.

well of course, experience makes the person better. compare 207 posts to 2196.

Re: Dosflash32 Mobo/Sata Compatibility ?
Experience is good. For the most part. Sometimes those that have experience get lax. By that I mean something becomes so second nature to them that they automatically think everyone should understand subject a, when sometimes they don't. So experience means alot, but not everything. And no, I'm not talking about CoFree, LOL!!

Re: Dosflash32 Mobo/Sata Compatibility ?
well guys i guess i'm one of the lucky ones, i had no problems at all.
my onboard nforce sata read/wrote the drive.
i made sure to check my orig.bin in FW tool an it had a bunch of different numbers, aswell as when i made the ixtreme FW it said success in green an everything was ok.
i recommed everyone with a compatible onboard sata or card to use dosflash32 if you're a noob, theres no easier method for flashing your benq.
thanks again everyone.

Re: Dosflash32 Mobo/Sata Compatibility ?
glad you got it going.
dosflash works good that for sure.
the thing is most of the begainers have never seen a dos window and it geeks them out.
so iprep will walk them through it step by step.
