Hey there...I've been out of the scene for a while and need some help catching up. I haven't kept up on my reading material since May this year, I took all of my boxes off line waitng for news of the update and I haven't reflashed or been online since. I assume what I need to do is return OFW, update, and then reflash using the newest 2.0 (I have 2 liteon 7's, 1 liteon 9, and a benQ). I believe the last CWF I flashed on most of them was 1.73 or there abouts.
The one that's gonna be a bear is the LiteOn 9.... I actually have a original hitachi drive spoofed to a 9 in it because I fried the pcb after I pulled the drive key originally. Can I still flash as spoofed or do I need to just pony up and get a new pcb like I should have a year ago? I also have a spare liteon 7 drive I could throw in it if that's a better fit.
Lastly, I guess this is going to be my new home....what happened to Hacking Jungle? I was a VIP member there, took off for a while and now it's sold?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Been out for a while...catch me up to speed please.
your procedure to get you up to date with your consoles is correct, but to get the 9 series lite on console up to date your gunna need to get another 9 series drive, the update will not finish unless the original drive is in the console

Need your drive flashed? PM me to sort something out

OR email me at louismoylan@live.co.uk
Flashing in the UK
Also do drive replacements

Ah...Figured as much. Anybody got a good source for a new pcb for a liteon 9? I have all the rest of the drive, like I said just not the pcb, I could never get the key to inject on the board after I cut the traces. I repaired them, but obviously "repair" is a flexible term in this circumstance.
Thanks for the prompt reply, it greatly appreciated.
P.S. I'm sure this is not the place to post such a thing, but if anyone is interested I have some private tracker invites I can give out. BT, TL, and HDME. I only have a couple but if your interested send me a PM to this address: brewnonymous@gmail.com don't PM me using this profile please, just the email.

There may also be a new update, but we will see. There is talk about forza 4 having checks that may fail with lt 2.0 and may need to be updated to 2.1 before the game is safe.
As for the PCB, best bet is flea bay but buying the PCB itself is kind of hard since its kind of a specialty item, and there is a slim chance there will be someone out there who will have the knowledge to know that if a drive is "dead" there are still recoverable components that people will buy.
Its usually easier to just buy a new lite-on. However since it is a lite-on you may be able to find a locked up drive, that someone thinks is bricked but infact is just locked up (no FW on the drive)
Hacking jungle was having issues from what I remember I think they were being attacked (DDOS) and whatnot, I think things just started to fall apart. I dont know of the official reason but I think things just all kept going wrong, and just kept adding up until shoot and the other guys just had enough and decided to 'get out' and sell the site. I dont actually know if it was sold or not, but I assume since the site is no longer around, that it didnt sell and he didnt renew his hosting for the website.
