not able to update dash with flash drive or cd/dvd

I have an old benq that I was getting ready to flash with the new lt. 2.0
before I did so I put in a backup of the new connect sports 2 when I got
cant read the update from the disc error, I realize that my xbox drive was
flashed and I need to update the dash but my problem is it wont work ?
I downloaded the update and tried with 2 different flash drives and also
tried and burnt it to a cd and the error just wont go away. can anyone give me a clue
on what I may be doing wrong ? any help is appreciated ! While I wait for
some help I will continue reading to see if I can find a fix. thanks alot !
I also read that I may need to flash my benq drive back to stock then
try to update via flash drive then flash with the new LT.2.0 for the benq ?
In the meanwhile I will look for a stock benq flash. help please

there is a full set of stock firmware in the latest firmware pack
flash your benq to stock firmware
make sure your key is in it

then make sure you have a HD on the console
and try to update from a flash
remember you put the $systemupdate folder on the root of the flash
when you plug the flash in the console it should pop up a window about the update
if not try a different port for the flash or a different flash
i have 2 different kinds that will not work and 1 that will
or try to burn the $systemupdate to a cd and do it that way

Thank you sir, I just got some stock firmware downloads for my benq and try to
flash back to stock and do what you said if then it does not work then Ive

one last question: my benq is vad6038 but here is what I got when I downloaded the stock firmware for my benq and I got 3 different ones org-64930c_e030_2.bin b030.bin e030_1.bin each one started with org-64930c I am not sure which one to use or where I can find the other stock firmwares you mentioned ? thanks again

thanks CoFree but there are still 3 or 4 different ones for my benq vad3068 drive. I have it pulled out and sitting in front of me, I can read the sticker pretty well. It is a old drive (2007). I saved the individual firmwares so I wont have to redownload but is there any way to figure out which one is the one I need ? by the sticker on the drive or loading in jf ? I sure appreciate your help, you have been helping me for years

on my drive i saw 64930c A
so i use the 64930c-a030
and it went fine
that all i can tell you man

ok on my drive i definatly see the 64930c but no A,B or C so I guess Im gonna start with the first one and work my way down. I have scanned every inch of this drive and can only find the 64930c and all of the stock firmware starts with 64930c, at least there are only 3 or 4 to try. I dont know if the link the last guy left is valid but I kept it just in case the others did not work. I just found in very small print bqr-vad6038(b) ? what do u think ? Im gonna give that one a try. thanks again

well I did what I thought was a successful flash back to stock but when I plug back in and try to update dash with both a flash drive and a cd it starts to apply then cuts out and goes right back to the same cant read update from disc error. I wonder if I finally trashed this baby ? no discs at all will work ? I wonder what else to try other than see if somehow I did not get it to flash back to stock ? but everything seemed to work. either way thanks for your help.

it must have damaged the console itself if that is possible ? I put in a old benq drive that was origionally in that console that I know should still work and I immediatly got the same error. Has there been anyone else who could not at all get their console to update ? I am just about done with this one, it has worked great for quite a few years.
