Post by Xtreme »

Ok heres the problem,, My hitatch drive ROM VER:0046DG only plays 5% of the backed up games that i own. So come to the conclussion that the firmware is really out dated. Wanted to update firmware. Realized do not have the original FW for this drive. So was advised to Spoof the drive with an Samsung. So I ran Iprep, Updated the FW on the Samsung so its ready to go, and now I am Stuck Thanks

no i dont know what your doing with the spoof stuff.
do you have a sam dvd drive or just the hit.

with the hit drives you dont have to have the orig firmware.
the key is never erased from the drive.

if you want to update your firmware
have a look at the video.
http://www.robinhoodsplayground.com/for ... =110&t=322

you will have to do the restore then the flash.

i dont think a firmware update will fix your problem but that is where i would start.

make sure your backup are on verbatim disc dump the game no faster than 4x speed and then burn no faster than 2.4x speed

yep.. the firmware could be an issue more likely it's the drive - hitachi drives are very particular when it comes to reading backups & media!

As we have already been discussing this in the robinhood chat I have the heads up on your situation.
Since you don't have an original firmware for the hit drive the best solution is to spoof to your spare samsung drive.

To do this you are going to need to 1st connect hitachi drive to your pc & put in in modeB with either slax or a connectivity kit.
After you have the drive in modeB you are going to need to boot into windows & fire up firmware toolbox 4.6 & do a dump of the hitachi drives firmware. Then you will need to check the key & copy it to a text file.

Next you are going to need to take a dump of your samsung drive via iprep.
After you have the dump you need to boot back into windows (back the firmware up 1st off your usb)
then load up the samsung hacked firmware "SAM-CFW.BIN" in firmware toolbox & replace the key with the hitachi key you copied to the text file earlier & click the "replace ke"y button.

Then click "tools>spoof firmware" & select the drive from the list you want to spoof it to.

After this you need to boot back into iprep & flash the "key injected & spoofed" firmware via : fsam xxxxxxx xxxxx

He has been on the chat server.. I asked him to post it on the forums.

Basicly what I can make of his situation is he has a pre-flashed xbox with a hit drive that is not reading all his backups.
Is the drive failing??
He does not have the original hit dump - so he cannot restore before upgrading his firmware!

He also has a redundant samsung drive that he reports to work so I advised him to swap the drives - replace the key & spoof the firmware ;)

if you play on live
i would update the firmware ,make sure my backups were right, then try a laser pot tweak.
if all that dont work then yes change the drive.

if you dont play on live then
it dont matter.

I just dont like using a spoofed drive on live unless i have to.
thats just me. ;)

yes MSK is on the money
there is a guide for doing what you are talking about here.

wait a min here man.

take a copy of
the latest hit firmware v1.4 and unzip it.
then in that folder you will see
a zipped up "fwpack" unzip that.
have a look and see what is in side.
all the firmware for the older hit dvd drives.

i would update the firmware first then go from there.

of course dont use that firmware folder after all that
trash it and get a new one. ;)

In other words, did you dump the firmware from your Hitachi using Slax/Connectivity kit and Maximus' Firmware Toolbox and inject the drive key from the Hitachi into the hacked firmware created for the Samsung before flashing the Samsung? If you just flash the Samsung drive with iXtreme and install it in the 360 without injecting the drive key from the Hitachi you will get boot errors no matter what you do. The drive key in the 360 DVD-ROM is "married" to the motherboard so to speak. If you just replace the 360 DVD-ROM drive without injecting the drive key from the original drive that came with the system, then you will get boot errors no matter what. Sorry to butt in guys, as you were lol.
