Does anyone happen to know why I can back-up one of my games and imgburn says that the burn has failed, disc didn't finalize. So I start over and burn another copy. Everything runs fine and completes perfectly. So I pop both disks into my 360 and both will work...
Does it make a difference that one didn't finalize or should I go back to the original plan of throwing out the failed one?
Does anyone have any suggestions about how to cure this problem.
Thanx
Back-ups are burning but not finalizing...

Not sure why its not finalizing properly, but yes, I would ditch the one that didn't burn properly.

i dont know why it would do that.
i would just keep a eye on it and see how the next few burns go.
i think i would put the one that did not finish off to the side for the time being

Are you using the latest version of ImgBurn? 2.4 is the latest version. I had some issues with it after updating from 2.3. After performing an fresh uninstall and reinstall the issues were corrected.
This sounds similar to your issue: http://forum.imgburn.com/lofiversion/in ... t6014.html
You could try some of the fixes suggested there.
Is your drives' firmware up to date? Check for firmware updates in ImgBurn through tools-->drive-->check for firmware updates at the bottom of the menu.

Re: Back-ups are burning but not finalizing...
I am pretty new to this so I started out with 2.4 and its a random thing... sometimes its fine and sometimes it doesn't finalize. Thought someone else might have heard of that. Thanks for the link to the forum, I'm just not sure it helped much. They were talking about increasing the speed and thats not gonna help me.
The only thing I am a little curious about was the updates... Do you mean software updates for imgburn?
It doesn't really have much to do with the firmware on the 360 cause it's a problem that occurs before I put it in the system.
Just wondering again if I should be concerned or if theres another possible fix?
Thanx

burning at 2.4 is fine its what speed i do all my burns at.
you could try and reinstalling img burn.
or
if you can try a different DL burner.
i dont think i would use the disc that did not finalize

No I mean firmware updates for your PC DVD writer. That's what ImgBurn checks for. You can do it manually by searching the fimrware page, but it's easier to just let ImgBurn check. How can you be sure burning faster wouldn't alleviate the problem if you haven't tried it? Worst case scenario you could try burning with Xbox Backup Creator or CloneCD.

hes right
the down side you have a disc you should not use.
i would not go faster than 4x speed
