Copying a Backup?

Haven't seen anyone ask this question yet, what if my original 360 game gets trashed and I don't have the ISO backed up on my PC, but I do have a backup copy on a DVD-DL is there a way to copy a backup? Or do you just use the regular method like it was an original?

now that being said.
i guess as long as you have the broke orig disc.
If it was me I would just use cloneCD >copy on the fly>disc to disc
that will do the trick.

I appreciate it, and that wasn't a rhetorical question, I do not plan to copy games that I do not already own. But I keep all of the games regardless of how scratched they may be if only to prove to the FBI someday that Im not guilty of piracy

You can copy a backup with just about any DVD program and DL writer. Remember that the iso created from the backup is only as good as your original backup. In other words if your original backup is not fully stealth, then the iso created from it is not either.

I just use ImgBurn in read mode and burn it in write mode to make a backup of a backup. The Layer Break should already be included in the iso when creating a backup of a backup after doing a read with ImgBurn. You can create a dvd file manually and load it into ImgBurn before burning the iso in case you want to be sure.

i did try this once just to see if it works and it does, i use imgburn and read backup at 6x and then burn at 4x, tried it with 2 games and works fine, destroyed it soon afterwards as i got some cheap disk and didnt really need it. but it is illeagal to make more than one backup of a original so do keep that in mind.

If legalities is what you want to discuss, then in the US you have to consider the DMCA. The DMCA trumps the Fair Use act in the fact that the Fair Use act allows us to make one backup copy of any software title that we own. The DMCA adds to that by saying that sure, you can have said single copy back up as long as the original was not copy protected. Circumvention of copy protection is whats so illegal about it. I'm not sure about what the laws are in other countries, but I would imagine that if they don't have something similar, they soon will have.

it is a bit confusing because how would you have a backup in the first place then because it is also illegal to get it from someone else as you have to have it yourself. well discussion about this goes very far.
