Power Supply

Post by dogfood09 »

I have read that it is advisable to have the 360 on a seperate power supply? Dumb Qustion now: What do you mean?

I have 2 360 , both on their original power pack , my pc , my sound system , my sky hd and tv all hooked up together.

Is that ok?

when flashing, most of the guys here use an external power supply to power the drive. This is because some people believe that the console could log a boot without the sata cable plugged in (to the 360, that is).

This is done using a Connectivity Kit (a small circuit board with the necessary connections), and a suitable power supply. There are a couple of options here, an old AT PSU, an original xbox PSU, or viewtopic.php?f=61&t=885&start=10#p5626 this handy tool MsK showed us...

Powering the drive externally to flash is a matter of preference, I have done it with and without the 360, and although it doesn't seem to make any difference I still use a Connectivity Kit, just to be safe. It's easier as well, no messing about earthing the console.

CoFree, would this AT PSU work to power the Connectivity Kit?-- http://cgi.ebay.com/API-3186S-IBM-06H88 ... dZViewItem I'd like a PSU that does not need a motherboard to be connected to to put out power.

Thanks
