Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
Okay, this what happening: first of all i'm f******g pissed, i specialy bought DVD drive and all other shit and i cannot flash my xbox. My PC is Compaq Evo 300 it's a P4 flat desktop system with the worst bios there is a think. Ok to the point: i did my iprep on my mp3 it doesn't boot, [non system disk etc.] then 3! pen drives they don't work, i bought floppy disks and what? "bad word" drive is "bad word" up, it says format the disk... ok and windows was unable to do that, what a shitload of "bad word". I've spend two days and im stuck with opened pc and xbox... any sugestions? Now i'm in UK and don't have a mate whos got a pc only new laptops without floppy drives. WHAT TO DO NOW?
sorry for the language

Re: Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
well man
first just calm down.
now.
lets see what we can do.
you can look into up dating your bios(this can be a pain)
i cant believe that it wont boot from floppy.
What 360 dvd drive are you tring to flash
I have heard that some people can build a iprep SD card and boot on that.
have a read in this.

CoFree's right man. Go relax a litle before trying anything else with it. When I get frustrated and try to work on something I always end up breaking something. We'll try our best to help you get things sorted out and squared away.
When you tried your mp3 player and pen drives, did iprep format and make them bootable successfully and your computer just wouldn't boot from them or did iprep give an error during any of the process?

Re: Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
I've got a xbox premium with hdmi, the drive is benQ, everything the iprep did was fine, i finally booted on cd Hiren's BootCD 9.5 and copy the iprep mp3 data onto the cd also, in dos or something like that because lot's of shit loads there
, i opened the autoexec entered dben and serial and there was this: invalid backup etc, ok went thru there and to the intro ok i hit yes and turn on xbox the value didn't change so i'm stuck there, dammit i've spend lot's of money now for the upgrades my pc and i doesn't work
i't wont boot from floppy because i cant make the iprep
it wont format the drive is messed up i think

Re: Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
getting in the benq is not bad most of the time.
You have to have a via6421a or L chipset pci/sata card.
yes i know others have done it with this or that
the best thing is this.
http://tekgems.com/Products/la-pci22-vt6421a.htm
the only other thing it could be is try a different usb flash.some of them dont work right.
im not ure what your doing with the cd thing your talking about.
a lot better post man.

i't wont boot from floppy because i cant make the iprepit wont format the drive is messed up i think
have you tried a different floppy??
or
Is there an option to boot from usb in your bios??
The main reason I ask this is because if you have prepared the flash drive in iprep & adjusted your bios settings to boot from the flash but it still will not boot you may have the same problem as me...
I can boot from a usb drive in my pc but it will not boot a drive that is formatted with iprep bootable option checked!
I have to prepare my usb flash with HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool & windows 98 boot disc image then prepare with iprep but without selcting the "make device bootlable" option

Re: Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
well
i would say it will boot from a usb flash you just need to figure out how to do it.
that card should be fine.you should be using the sata port on the inside of the computer.
man you need to chill out some.
most of the time this will take a day or two to get working.

If you get the iso "in the wild" so to speak, there is no telling what the issue is. The iso itself may not be usable. It is possible the game was a bad burn. You can run the iso through XDVDMulleter and make sure it's fully iXtreme compatible. You can also run a disc surface and quality scan with Nero CD-DVD to check if the disc you burned is decent quality and readable.
CD-DVD Speed:

User Guide:

Run the disc quality scan at the same speed you burned it. Make sure to use the full scan option, the quick scan will not provide accurate results.

Re: Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
I know
, anyway another question i have lots of xbox360 original games how do i make a backup with this kreon :>? do i need to buy another drive or something and download the firmware??

Re: Problems with usb, floppy disk :(
Kreon is a firmware, used for rbacking up 360 games. It can only be used with a couple of drives, a Samsung model in particular (SH-D162x I believe, I think there are 4 models). You can buy one pre-flashed, or you can (try and) find one in it's stock state and flash KREON to it yourself.
From there it's a case of plugging the drive in and picking your ripping program (XBC or Schtrom).

And if at first you don't succeed..? Order the damn card!

Mirc is a place to chat, post up on the site for help!!!
