Original firmware dumping question

Post by tzabaman »

Hi to everyone,
I have the following question about confirming if the original firm is the right one.
Assuming that I have dumped sucesfully the firmware and checked it with firmtoolbox and it is ok.
If I dump the original firm again from xbox and compare it with the first one, the two firmwares will have the same sequence of numbes/letters or every time the drive gives a random sequence of numbes/letters?
Thanx in advance!!

if you have a good key in your firmware.
That key will be the same every time you dump the firmware.
that is your console "KEY" they all are different.

when you read about a person bricking there drive. it is because they have lost there orig key.The 360 console
must have the key that was in it orig or it is "bricked"

you would want to make many copies of the key/firmware.Keep them in more than one place off of your computer.
rar the firmware up and email it to your self and leave it on there server.I would burn a copy to a cd.

Thanks for the fast reply.
But is it possible to dump the SAME WRONG KEY twice?
I'm asking this question because I think that it is a good way to verify that your key is correct....

Well, the problem with "The same wrong key twice" is if you only do it twice and get different results, which one is correct. If I dump a drive and get different results, I dump it 4 more times. If it then shows consistency, then I flash. If it doesn't, I keep dumping till it is consistent. Then I know its right. If in 10 times of dumping, there is no consistency of the key, then something is wrong and I would look at my setup.
