Spoofing Firmware

Post by smitty88oh »

Alright here's my question.I have a samsung drive MS28 and I will be swapping it out with a new Benq Drive,Now do I really need to Spoof the firmware or can I just change the key in the Benq to the Key that was in the samsung?
Everything has been flashed with the latest firmware.I am just curious before I put it into the xbox it's self.I don't want to mess this up. :D

1st
you posted in the wrong spot. ;)
I moved it for you.

that being said
yes you have to spoof the firmware. If you dont the console will know that it has the wrong dvd drive in it and will not work.
You need to put your orig key in the benq firmware then spoof the benq firmware to report as a sam v28.
Then flash that in the benq and it should be good to go.
then you can flash the benq/spoofed firmware in doing a restore.
