got it in to mode b select drive
then it says what speed 2x 8 x 12x but when i put 12x does not work is it the x letter or the * i cant work it out
cant get any further it says
cannot open fwpack.rar
the speed you have chosen does not exist

have a look at this.
all i use is the 12x speed.work from on the desktop.you have to un rar the firmware

if the drive has never been flashed befor then you do not have to do t6he restore.
you can go strait to the flashing.
you need to remember you will always need to do a restore then flash on a older hit drive like that.

just got in from work thanks for replay it help a lot forgot to un rar the folder
but now when i go to flash ix bat
drive d OK
speed 12x OK
name file 1234 OK
then it comes up with
flashing drive d Hitachi v 47 165 firmware speed 12x

flashing 01/11 seotor 9000 36000 (xtrem custom code) then it freezes i waited ages but nothing
i got the xbox 360 in mode b with the original game with the light flashing

you used slax to get the drive in modeB right.
its mounted in your computer with a drive letter

sorted out but this time when i use slax i did not put a original game in the box and i used a different sata cable
