e66 could mean a few different things. Could be something physically wrong with the drive. Or It could have the wrong firmware version. If it started doing this after you did the firmware update, flash it back to stock and see if that fixes it. Make sure that you check the firmware for a proper key, because without a proper key, your benq won't work in the 360 anyway. If your planning on replacing the samsung with the benq, you not only need to put your samsungs drive key in the benq firmware, but also spoof the benq firmware to where it reports as the samsung ms-28.

To flash the Samsung back to stock, you need to build a restore disc with iPrep and use the rben command. You will need a dump of the firmware from the Samsung with a valid drive key to flash it back to stock. To obtain the drive key you will need to get a valid dump of the Samsung drive.

To check the drive key, open the backup of the original firmware created during the flash process or do a dsam or dben and check the firmware with Maximus Firmware Toolbox. If it's a random numbers and letters, it should be okay. If it's all F's or 7's, then the key is invalid. If the key is invalid, try dumping it again until you get a valid one. You can get Maximus Firmware Toolbox on xbins. Here's a guide for building a restore disc with iPrep.

Did you use iprep to flash the drive after you fixed e74?? If you did, then the original firmware would already be on the media that you made with iprep. It would be on that media in the backups/1234567/12345/ directory or which ever serial number that you used. In which case all you should have to do is boot your iprep media again, but instead of using dsam and fsam commands, you would use the rsam command to restore it. You would just type rsam 1234567 12345 to start the process and follow the on screen instructions. If you didn't use iprep, before flashing the drive, you would had to have dumped the original drive in order to make a hacked firmware with ixtreme. It really depends on how you dumped and flashed the drive to get it back to stock. You say you fixed the e74, after that was the drive working (reading games)?

well after reading over the thread.

i would want to know.
what did the guy you got it from do to it.If anything.
if you got the restore back in the drive and it still gives you that error.
I would say that is the wrong key.Even though it is a good key .its not for that console.
a 360 for 50.00 is cheap even broke.
The console may not be good because you dont have the real key but i would think the drive is good.

i would keep the drive and the next time i could i would flash it with a good key and firmware .Even spoof it just to see if the drive is good or not.

can i modify the key with other key,,or what are my options here?
who knows,,im lost ,,how much time i spent with this, man
thanks coffre

p.s. i got to figure out how to spoof this ,,more reading and research,,

if you donr have the key for that console/dvd drive then its no good. You will not be able to get that CONSOLE working.
the thing is that the dvd drive very well may be good so dont trash it.

until you can flash in a good firmware with key for a good console.
That will be the only way to know for sure.

I actually don't think its a bad key. Bad keys from my experience, don't give errors like that, but gives the error "To play this game, insert it into an xbox 360" type message. I think you probably have a jacked drive to be honest. This is just an opinion by the way, but I think you could benefit by trying to replace the drive.

sadalius
could very well be right.

the thing is
he has never seen the console work. When he got it it was e74.he did what he did :?: :?: now its e66.
also he got it for 50.00 cheap even broke. ;)

at this point
i would not trash any thing.
i would try all different combo, drive to console ,console to drive.
there will be spoofing involved, but that is the only way i know of, to know 100% what is good and what is bad.
