No, i JUST DUMPED (dBen) the the hacked firmware of my 360 benq drive to get the key and i got TWO files in BACKUP folder, i know that the 'CFW' is the hacked firware with my 360 key, but is the 'OFW' the REAl ORIGINAL firware of my drive, as their was no original firmware on the drive, I only dumped the hacked firware to get my key.
So is this 'OFW' file mt real original firmware for my benq drive, or is it just made up?
Dumping Firmware
Re: Dumping Firmware
ok man the "ofw" is the firmware that was your firmware you just dumped and the "cfw" is the new hacked firmware
from what that says you were running ixtreme v1.1 that is a old as hell firmware .
for the benq the newest firmware is the ixtreme v1.41.
that is the firmware you should have loaded in iprep when you made the usb boot flash.
NO
the firmware you dumped is NOT the real orig firmware that is gone.
The "ofw" is in fact your old hacked firmware that was flashed in it last time.
Its ok.as long as you have your key.make many backups of the "ofw" and save it in more than one place.off your computer also.
If you ever need it you can get a copy of orig firmware that is not a problem.
right now you need to update the firmware to the ixtreme v1.41.

Re: Dumping Firmware
Just a question, when you update the BenQ's from an older version of iXtreme to a newer version of iXtreme, do you download the latest iXtreme Firmware for the BenQ, take the benq-ofw.bin stick it in the 12x folder, run the make firmware batch file, then shove the benq-cfw in the backups-->1234567-->12345 folder on the usb and run fben, or is it different?

Re: Dumping Firmware
well this is kind of hi-jacking the thread.
well you can make the hack firmware your self.
but
The best way i think is to just do it like the first time.
build your iprep boot flash with the newest firmware.
dump the firmware(old hacked) then firmtool will get the key and install it in the new hacked firmware.
then just flash it in.just like the first time.
it is always a good idea to stop in the middle and check the firmware for a good key with firmware toolbox v4.6

Re: Dumping Firmware
Is their also another (older) hack firmware for the BenQ drives other than the 1.41 version? If so, which version is the other old version?
Re: Dumping Firmware
ok
man lets get on the same page here.
the newest firmware for the benq is the "benq ixtreme v1.41"
all other benq firmware is a older version. They number them in order.
so the v1.1 that is in your dvd drive is 3or 4 back.It is no longer considered safe for xbox live.
when your 360 drive was flashed the last time(maybe the first time) the v1.1 was used in iprep
they dumpped your orig firmware the key was copied over into the v1.1 hacked firmware and then that v1.1 was flashed in your 360 dvd drive.
what you need to do now is
start all over with iprep put the v1.41 firmware in.what ever speed you want.i use 12x speed.
build your usb boot flash drive with iprep.
then dump the firmware again you will see firmtool run and put your key in the hacked firmware.
then do the flash and flash in the hacked firmware that was just made with your key.
have a look at this video.it goes into it from start to finish.

Re: Dumping Firmware
CoFree thanks mate, top man, keep the good work up.

Re: Dumping Firmware
So on BenQ and Samsung drives you DONT need to put original firmware first to upgrade from an older hack firmware, you can just dump and flash it the same way, as your flashing the benq/samsung drive for the very first time yea?
Re: Dumping Firmware
Thats right Don. With Samsung's and Benq's, you can dump whatever firmware is on the drive, be it original firmware or hacked firmware, and let iprep make your new hacked firmware and then flash it. You do want to check to make sure that you got a good dump before flashing it though.
