Is stead of soldering people have been using paper clips, screwdrivers, solder pens and other metal devices to make the bridge. I have seen a couple drives that people have tried to solder and ruined their drive. I wanted to throw that out as an option, you seemed a little reluctant to solder as would I.

so in using those other methods how and when do you do em. . . ?

success!!! did my first lite-on drive like an hour ago. . . no solder, i just held a screwdriver to bridge the connection. cofree, good looking out once again. . . !!!
