maybe the laser is weak or something ?

also try burning those 8x verbs @ 4x speed, might help.

i didn't even think they could or should be burned any lower.

I understand verbatim is best kind of disks, but few days back I bougth a pack of memorex (which was on sale for $34 for 50 Discs) and I had zero problem backing up my games. I used img burn and burn on 2.4x speed.

yeah bj but memorex is crap compared to verbs, and yeah they might work but i doubt your helping the life of your laser with memorex.

just a heads up.

also i know burning 2.4 rated verbs is right burning at 2.4x speed, i mean i don't think you can burn those at any other speed ?

in regards to 8x rated verbs, i didn't know you could burn those lower than 4x ? cuz it says 4x up to 10x on the package, also my burner wouldn't let me burn those any lower than 4x which lead me to believe 8x verbs couldn't be burned any lower than 4x.

oh well when i had 8x verbs they all burned at 4x with no probs, now these 2.4x rated verbs can only burned at 2.4x which is what i burn them at of course lol.

it's all good.

8-)

Right now I'm having some trouble burning with Verbatim 2.4x. I'm getting the power calibration/invalid field in cdb error. I'm gonna try burning on another computer and if that doesn't work I'll pick up some 8x and see what happens.

Man
there are a couple of wrong things with your post.
1st
you are hi-jacking someone else thread.
Its considered rude.
2nd
The big thing.

If you want to make a backup of your disc that is one thing, but asking for iso for a donation
is just a smoke and mirror for piracy.
We dont support that here.

The only reason im not locking the thread is its someone else thread. :?

It seems that a lot of the discussion has been focused on the 8x rated verbatims being burned at 2.4x. I do exactly the opposite. I buy the 2.4x verbs and burn them at 8x. I have seen people argue over what speeds the games should be burned at but I've done testing on 3 different 360 drives and none of them encountered an issue with the same game burned at 2.4x or 8x. These are made in Singapore and not India btw.

Disc ID: MKM-001-00
Book Type: DVD+R DL
Supported Write Speeds: 2.4x, 4x, 6x, 8x

I am not trying to jack this thread so if that is wut i did plz accept my apology but since the question of this post is Verbatim 8x or 2.4 dvd+r dl my question is i read that the best disc 2 use for backups is the Verbatim 8x Dvd-R dl instead of the Dvd+r dl. Is that good advice or it does not matter it can be either Dvd+R or Dvd-R dl?
