It should be fine. Keep in mind that if you use a different computer, you'll have to set iprep back up from scratch. When you initially set it up, the sata ports are assigned for that computer, they will more than likely be different from computer to computer, even if you install the sata card from one computer to a different one, so you'll want to run the iprep setup on the computer your going to be doing the key dumping and flashing from.

hi - can you explain a bit more when you say "even if you install the sata card from one computer to a different one, so you'll want to run the iprep setup on the computer your going to be doing the key dumping and flashing from"....i can understand installing the sata card and installing the drivers, but not too sure about "setting up iprep again".....what do you mean ?
also
in the video yut near the end after you have erased the liteon firmware...how do you turn the power to the liteon off and then back on again ?....do you simply pull the power cable out or use the on/off button the ck3 pro ?....
also
just after this erasing part it asks "enter the number of the ATAPI drive , ie in the tut its 6?"....how do you know which is the right one for my drive ?...will it be displaying "no identify possible"...because theres no firmware on it ?
also bought this serial cable...will it do ?

sorry for so many questions again.....

you have to build the usb flasj drive on the computer you are going to dump/flash with.
if you change computers the port address will be different and that will cause you trouble.
peacock wrote:but not too sure about "setting up iprep again".....what do you mean ?
well you would need to have iprep build the isb flash again so the port address would be right
the port address is a set of letters and/or numbers that the computer will give the sata port.iprep must have that info right or the dump/flash will not work.
peacock wrote:how do you turn the power to the liteon off and then back on again
there is a small on/off switch on the ck3.you will use that to power off the drive.
peacock wrote:just after this erasing part it asks "enter the number of the ATAPI drive , ie in the tut its 6?"....how do you know which is the right one for my drive
that can be a little tricky. It will be easy to see which one it is before you dump.you will be able to read the info for the drives and see which one it is.
after the erase you just have to remember which one it was.
it will be the same one but it will not list all the info because it is now blank.
yep should be fine.

Looks like it's not seeing the boot record on the jump drive. You may have to go into your BIOS settings and look around to see if you can find anything thats related to booting off a USB device. Each BIOS is different so we won't be able to tell you much about what settings to look for.
You might even try a floppy disk if you have one.

use iprep to set it up. Just choose the A: drive for your target. Then set your BIOS boot order to A: first boot device. When you set it up, you'll only want to select the firmware for the drive that you are working with, like if your doing a lite-on only load up the lite-on firmware and don't worry about the samsung or the benq firmware. If you load all three firmwares, you'll get a insufficient disk space message when you try and read out the firmware.

Your only changing the boot media. Everything else will be the same. The only difference is you would be using a floppy instead of a jump drive.
