well man flashing off the mobo is hard at best.some people have been able to most have not.
most of us use a via 6421 sata pci card.
when you are trying to dump/flash on your card you are making sure that is the raid controller in the window
like in the video right.
once you see the D1 flash cut it off for at least 2 sec more is ok
then turn it on it should start the dump
you have tried doing this on a floppy.if not do that.
stay with the sata pci card right now.

has anybody else had similar problems to mine and if so did you manage to fix them?
Seems strange that im the only person with this problem.
i was thinking of formatting my c drive and starting all from scratch,do you think this would help?
also when installing windows xp i seem to remember it asks if you wish to install 3rd party scsi or raid adapter should i try to install my sata drivers at this point to see if it works.
apart from buying a new motherboard i dont really know what else to try i really am at my wits end on this problem been at it now for nearly a week.

Formatting you C drive will not help. After all, your booting into dos and at that point, your C drive is not even used for anything. Even though it could be used, it's not.
When installing windows and it tells you to press F6 to install scsi or raid controller drivers, thats intended to allow you the opportunity to give the setup some drivers to run your scsi/raid controller during the setup if your installing to a scsi or sata hard drive, like for instance a computer thats 100% sata would be hard to install windows on, unless you were able to install your sata drivers during the windows installation.
Since you have the VIA 6421 card, have you tried the latest drivers from viaarena.com?

Hi guys.
Right guys i have made some progress.
i Dl the latest drivers from via arena and stated again from scratch.
and created new floppy boot disk with iprep 1.6.I chevked my device and in iprep it showed as being 0xD8D0.
I then booted pc with iprep'd floppy disk when it came to the stage to resend mtk vendor intro it still would not budge from status 0xFF.
iI decided to try again in dosflash 16 so i unplugged all ide leads and also disabled onboard sata and disabed all ide ports in my computers bios.
This is what i did.....
Xbox 360 off
turned pc on
typed dosflash
it returned the message i had no atapi drives present
i did not reboot
i turned Xbox360 on
typed dosflash
the benq drive showed up at 0xEF00
turned Xbox360 off
i hit Y to resend mtk vendor intro
the status showd as 0xD1
turn Xbox360 off
status showed as 0xF3
turned Xbox360 off and the staus did not change from 0xF3.
What i find strange is that in iprep my device shows up as 0xD8D0 but in dosflah it shows up as 0xEF00 ?
Why should i get two different addresses
Whould unplugging all my pci devices make any difference to the status of the mtk vendor intro.
Do any of you guys know what i could do to get this working i have stuck with using my via sata card as cofree advised and i have made some progress but when i noticed the two different device ids in iprep and dosflash i wondered if this could be part of the cause for my problems as it seems that the programs are confused.
Any advice guys on what i could try or do ou know of any one who could point me in the right direction.
Thanks for your patience and your help so far.
cheers BIF.......

Does your sata card have two internal ports on it? If it does, try the other one.

after you hit y to resend mtk make sure you turn on the 360.then wait till the d1 starts flashing.at that point turn the 360 off for at least 2 sec.then turn it back on and it should start the dump.
i just watched the viedo again and i did not say that one thing.
have you been doing that

thats right it should do just what you said.then you turn it back on and it should start the dump.
mtk resend "y" enter
turn drive power on d1 flashing leave flashing 2 sec
turn drive off d1 should stay on
wait 2-5 sec then turn on power to drive it should start the dump.

cofree what you have said should happen but it doesnt it just sits at D1 it doesnt move when i power on and power off the drive it just sits at D1 nothing happens if i leave it for 2-5 sec or leave it for 1-2 mins nothing happens and i have to reset???
Thats whats annoying me as i have all the right kit and it works for everyone else but dont understand why its not happening for me....?

man im sorry to harp on this but you said
"it just sits at D1 it doesnt move when i power on and power off the drive it just sits at D1 nothing happens if i leave it for 2-5 sec or leave it for 1-2 mins nothing happens"
you did n ot say anything about turning it back on.
after you power back off and it is showing the D1.you then turn it back on after 2-5 sec right.
check you pm

1. Boot to dos with Benq powered off.
2. Run iprep dump command.
3, MTK vendor resend "y" enter
4. Turn benq power on, status code changes from 0x7F to 0xD1 and switching to 0x51 back and forth.
5. Turn Benq power off, wait anywhere between 4-10 seconds.
6. Turn Benq power on. Dump begins.

hi sadalius.
when i try to dump firmware in iprep the status just stays at 0xff and it doesnt move weather i turn xbox on or off i have tried multiple combinations off booting pc first then xbox.
i can only get it to show 0x73 in dosflash 1.4 and when i turn xbox off and on it doesnt change again tried multiple methods of booting pc and xbox at different times.
i dont know what to try next.

hi guys
I have been trying to crack this 1 yet again today with no success.
no matter what i try it will not read the drive,i have tried it on 2 via 6421 sata cards,2 seperate pcs, tried all manner of drivers, tried dosfalsh 16 and dosflash 32 all with no success i have followed all tutorials i think it may be down to my motherboard as i cannot figure out why this is not working.therefore i have given up.
just wanted to thanks all you guys who took the time to give me advice on this problem, the only thing i can think of is too wait untill a newer version of iprep becomes available and to try that, that is if a newer version of iprep will b released.
cheers again guys.
happy holidays
