benQ and via 6421 0xFF error

Hi all.
I am trying to read the fw on a Benq drive,I have followed all the tuts for flashing this drive with iprep 1.6 and i cannot get my drive into debug mode it just hangs at 0xFF no matter what i try it wont move.
I have tried diffrent ports tried using a different sata cable. I have tried having the xbox turned on before i hit any key when trying to retry mtk flash intro i get the error at E8D0 ,also tried it with power off and still nothing it just sits at 0xFF.
I am using a via 6421 sata card i have tried the different ports on this card and also tried diferent pci slots i am also running the via 550b drivers.
The thing that drives me nuts is that i can flash sammy's and shitachi's with no problem using this setup only on this BenQ drive it decides to give me some stick.

Any advice on what i can do to flash this drive would be greatly appreciated as i spent 10 hours on it know and it's driving me nuts.Helllllllllllllllllp

man it seems like you coved most everything.
i would try a different flash and try it on a floppy.
if that dont do anything.
try it on a different computer.

just try to go by this video.

I will give it a whirl on another pc and i have just ordered a new sata card.
I do have 1 question when insalling the via 550b drivers which is the best 1 to install the x64 or x86.
i will keep on tring this untill my new card arrives maybe my sata car i have now is screwed.

I used to get teh FF error. I think it means the pc isnt recognizing or doesnt know how to use the card

i only use the drivers that come with the card.reload the drivers that came with the card you have now.
i guess wait for the new card for the drivers for it.

i still have the 5.50b drivers and its worked. liked on my sig if you need them.

Thanks brandon i have already tried with the 550b drivers and it still did the same.i have just re installed drivers i got with the card (530) and will try tonight.
in the meantime i have ordered another 2 port via 6421 sata card from svp uk and will try that tomorrow when it arrives.i also now have an old pc that i can try it on also.Hopefully i will get to the bottom of this as most people who have this problem seem to sort it out.just a headache when your actually doing it as sometimes you cant see the wood for the trees,lol.
i will report back with any progress i make,if i make any.

Back again guys.
right got a new sata card today via 6421 same chipset as my old card installed it and installed 550b drivers for it and guess what i still get the 0xff error tried all the usual configurations diferent pci slots,i went 1 better and installed the card into an old pc i have lying around and still the smae it will not budge from 0xff.
im at my wits end with this drive,just spent another £20 on a new card and still not working ,Can anybody offer me any help on this to solve it really numbing my brain now.
any help please.......

you said you have done a sam drive do you have one you can try to reflash or update to the new firmware with iprep101 v006.
just to make sure it will still do one of those

Hi cofree.
I have just flashed my sammy with blaster v2 ne to ixtreme 1.4 8x using iprep1.6 it went with no problems at all ao my sata card is working correctly.
This really has me bugged out as in reality my benq should be seen.
Is there any bios settings i should check on my pc.
i have checked my sata card port in iprep and and its the same port that gives me the error in mtk vendor intro.
I just dont understand this at all as i can do sammmys and hitachis but the benq gives me problems.
Any more advice or should i throw myself in the nearest river!lol

i am using floppy to start with but today i thought id try my ali onboard sata and i can get the drive into d1 but it wont start the read process?????????

man im not sure what your talking about
the sata is for hooking up the 360 dvd drive.
the floppy or flash is for booting on.

to clarify.
i have an onboard ali sata/raid m5289 if i connect it up to this and boot from floppy/usb when it comes to retry mtk vendor and i turn on connectivity kit the status will change to d1 when i turn off it changes back to 00 if i turn back on it changes to d1----at no point does this start to flash

i also have a via 6421 sata card if i boot from floppy/usb with iprep 1.6 i get the mtk vendor intro fail and it just sticks at 0xff no matter what i try.

if i boot using dosflash using my via or ali sata i can get it to see my drive but nothing else the status will not change no matter what i try.
my via primaster port is d8d0
my ali primaster is fe00

i cannot seem to work out whats wrong

i have inc a picture of the dosflash screen were my card is being recognised.
any ideas as to what it can be?????????????

im now thinking of buying a new motherboard for my pc so i can flash benq any suggestions on to what board i could buy for my amd64 so that i can flash my benq.
