you can get the tray open powering with the console for the benq or lite-on
it is a trick though.
here
If using a 360 to power the drive this method can be tricky to accomplish.
You need to power on the drive with Eject status closed but Tray Half Open –To do this using
an Xbox 360 as Power source, eject the DVD drive, then, press eject to ‘close’ the tray. Now this
is the important part –you MUST remove the DVD power plug from the DVD Drive BEFORE it
closes fully.
Wait for a few seconds and replace the power plug into the DVD drive taking extreme caution
to plug the plug the right way around –once done, the drive is now powered, console thinks its
closed but it is in fact half open.

Well done, but where on earth did you manage to find a Benq???
Make sure that you drop by and let us know how you got on with the flashing.
Good Luck

Get a ck3 lite if you're on a tight budget. Even though its possible to flash benq's etc without it a lot of people use a connectivity kit for extra safety as there is some debate on whether microsoft will be able to tell if it's been hooked up to the 360 during the flashing procedure. Plus if you decide you're not going to do any more it should be easy to sell on to recoup your outlay.

Or you could buy a CK3 kit and a probe and if you have any friends or relatives that own a 360, offer to flash theirs for a small fee. That will help you to recoup your outlay.
Otherwise as dalecheesy suggested you could just sell them on when you are finished with them. But I would prefere to keep them incase I needed them to upgrade the fw in the future.

I wanted to come back and give a update. I got my 360 flashed yesterday at a game repair store. And it went well

only $50.00. W00t
Tested a few backups and all is good!

I think it's 1.5
I saw that a new firmware came out the day I got it flashed... But I won't know until I try HAWX or MLB 2K9...

Ah man i'd be gutted if it was 1.5. If he's a nice bloke he might offer to reflash it for you for free. You could have got one of the guys on here to do it for you. Fingers crossed its the 1.51. Also did they supply you with a disc with your key etc in case you need it?

On another forum one of the users said once you have flashed a Lite-on drive you can get the key normally through Jungle Flasher. And a lot of other users confirmed that, that is correct. So that's a no, he didn't give me a disc with my key and etc.

Yeah but if your drive malfunctions before you get a chance to use jungle to dump it you'll be stuck with no way to recover the key. Might also be down to me being obsessed with saving files in about 20 different locations though. just in case .

Anywho here's hoping that you may have the 1.51 flashed allready.
