Then just boot up iprep again and type fben ******* ***** but you'll need to rename it bencfw.bin (if you want to go straight back to stock official firmware) If not and you're having problems with iprep creating it just use jungle to create the ixtreme with your dumped key injected into the 1.51 and do the same as above and you're sorted mate.

Right ive done all you said apart from renaming the OFW, shall I just try with it like it is now and if no go then do what you say and open up the backup folder again and change the OFW into CFW, then just go ahead and write ( fben and my serial ) so I deffo never need to read the FW anymore, just write all the time now yeah ?

Im sure ive got it now Ill keep you posted to let ya know, Ive spent a whole day with this dam thing, My head is now drained !

The last time 2 weeks ago for the first time I done it no bother, got the green successfull and everything and it erased and wrote the 4 banks very quick, because im flashing over another flash I got a bit stuck, did I always need the OFW from the start because at first I never put this in any folders or anything and I erased the drive, This is what ive done im sure.

To write it with the fben you will need to rename the benofw.bin to bencfw.bin to put it back to stock (just original games) . Then you can either redump it with the dben command and put the ixtreme on or as above just use jungle to create it as you have a good dump allready then flash it over with the fben command. ( redumping it is recommended though)

Technically you can just overwrite a previously flashed drive but the original dump is crucial in case it crashes etc as it holds your key in case your drive goes belly up and you need to spoof it over ( although any dumped firmware after you've flashed it with a valid key is good too. The key is vital). Save it in a few places especially off your pc in case the hard drive ever knacks up or something (email it to yourself is always a good idea)

im gonna try it now mate, cheers, if I wanna just try and write with iextreme instead do I just leave it how it is and write CFW as normal, and if I wanna change back to OFW I then do what you said and rename the bin OFW.bin file to CFW, but when im in iprep after renaming do I type CFW.bin or OFW.bin to restore it back ? Ill try this now ok.

If you want it returned to stock you would rename the ofw to cfw, then fben it and then typw W for write and type bencfw.bin. If you want it with ixtreme follow the above (either iprep dben or jungle spoof) and your up and running. Try putting it back to stock first the redump it as if it hadn't been done before. Think some people are having trouble with the new 1.51 down to dosflash or something or other.
Might be easier to spoof the key into the ixtreme with jungle like above then just follow the same commands.

Your a genius mate, I tryed just going in and writing with CFW, but it said my serial never existed or something so I tryed to write and the same, so I boot back to windows and rename the file and flashed typing CFW.bin and woo hoo its playing originals, You have fixed my xbox, thanks so much man, Will you help me reflash it tomorow mate, Its back to normal now but I do want to flkash again, shall I remake the iprep stick again now like as if I was starting a new flash, read then it says successfull in green then just flash as normal to 1.51 ? Like I said I had no trouble with 1.5, but then when your flashing over a flash you need to make the serial folders etc etc is that right, so now I wont need to make these folders if I just write coz I already have a OFW file still.

Fantastic. Good job mate. Yeah you can either build your iprep stick again and do it like you've never flashed it before with the dben command etc (as you'd need to create a ixtreme cfw with your key injected into it, iprep will make the folders for you when you use the dben ******* ***** command) or jungle the firmware with your key and do the same as you allready have. Once again good job though.

Youve done a fine job, Im over the moon honestly, Ill try the iextreme reinstall ain about 30 mins, Ill let ya know how I get on, But you say you need to read the FW first to get the OFW to make the FW, is that correct, just checking coz I thought id need to read it again, but I obviously wont need to boot back to windows and save it somewhere again will I coz Ialready have the first OFW file, in numerous places its very safe, lol.

Hi cofree, Theyve done an awesome job mate,

I know exactly where I was going wrong now and ill explain incase anyone has same issue, and its all just a learning curve for me, The reason I was getting a bad read and flash was coz I made bootable stick with all the stuff I done other flash with, the 1.5 flash a few weeks ago, I thought because I asked iprep to fomat aswell I presumed it would literally wipe it, It hadnt so when I was trying to read and write booted in iprep was saying OFW already exists etc etc, then was getting error messages and stuff, and since then I just couldnt figure it out, Then these guys got my OFW back on the drive, Then I realised I had to format stick in windows properly, reinstall iprep, add ixdef file for 1.51 and away I went, I got the same green successfull sign first after reading so I flashed straight away coz I already have a good OFW and weh hey, its all good, I now have 1.51. All my backups and originals are now fully in order.

Amazing job once again, the best website ive ever came across in regards to all this !

Tell me about it, Before I first flashed the drive Id seen lots of vids on you tube and stuff regarding the noise of the flashed Benq, I thought as I imagine you guys would aswell, lol I can handle that man, I wont even notice it really, Whaaat ! Its awfull but I just install game to HD now and its all sweet, lmao ! Is there no way to stop this coz it dont sound too good really, or is it just the noise of the FW and is actually doing no damage whatsoever ?

nah they're all like that, i've got an original firmware here to do and that sounds crazy. For a laugh try and play Halo 3 or Fable 2 on it (they seem to hunt like mad). It sounds like a demented washing machine and i keep thinking it going to bounce towards me. (s'ok though i've gotta bat)
