Need Help Badly !

Hi guys ive tryed to reflash using iprep 8.8, I copied in IX def file, all good, I tryed then to flash and it has erased, so I thought NOOOOOO, Its only saying play DVD now, So I thought ahh I need to put that OFW file I saved off before coz it needs drive key, Still no good, so ive tryed writing OFW back on and its still wont work, Can anyone please help me as I have the OFW.bin file but dont know what to do with it.

Im desperate Im gutted. I wished id just left it how it was.

What kind of drive was it? Send pe a PM with your OFW as an attachment and let me take a look at it and see whats going on.

Well, I got your FW, but you should have sent it in a PM and not posted it in public like that. Anyway, that firmware looked good.

Go through step by step explaining the steps that you took and the results as iprep gave them on the screen, were there any errors or anything to that nature?

basically it couldnt find the key, I done everything right up to that point, well I think I tryed to write when it said error, All it says in the drive is play DVD, Im sick as hell man, I installed iprep, copied and pasted the def file, overwritten it, Loaded iprep which had already been used for 1.5 about 2 weeks ago, I think this maybee where I went wrong, I then connected everything and booted into irep, I tryed to read but said it couldnt find the key, and it never went the same as first time as this time it asked me to eject track and hold half way, It still saidd failed try this geronimo test or something so I tryed that and still couldnt find key, but I thought well I dont need to read ill just flash FW and then it went how it did before just reading, erasing and writing the banks, Now when I try to do it again it saying no valid key found in red writing, Do i need to put this OFW file into iprep first as ive been doing this and then when I try to read its saying OFW already exists, Ive tryed allsorts man, Is my drive no good at all now ? I certainly hope not, I wished id just of left it on 1.5.

Have you tried using the rbin command to restore the original firmware and then move the firmware files out of your backups folder and starting from scratch?

I aint sure how to do this but ive just read somewhere about the command thing with firmtools but I dont know how to use this dos command thing, can you give me a step by step thing what I need to do, I have iprep 8.8 and iextreme 1.51, I have the stick, what do I need to do with the OFW file I sent you, and after ive done this is it just a simple write to 360 with iprep yeah, or will I still need to read it first. Im seriously thinking of doing my main console. I was fine doing that but this reflash has stumped me.

Boot up with your flash drive, at the prompt type in rben xxxxxxx xxxxx where the x's are teh serial number you used to flash with. This should flash your original firmware back to the drive. At that point, try the drive and make sure it will play originals.

Once you verify that it will play originals, go into the backups folder on your flash drive and you'll find a folder names with the 7 digit folder that you used. Inside that you'll find a folder with the 5 digit serial as the name and inside that you'll find the ofw and the cfw. Cut and paste those out to somewhere on your computer so this folder is now empty or just rename them to something else.

Then just do it like it had never been flashed before.

i tryed typing the rben command and its saying bad command ? as for iprep ill reinstall it and make a new bootable one,

Ive just opened my other xbox and its a lite on which I thought was benq originally, I thought I was lucky and had 2 benq`s, anyway I try to read the drive and its telling me to do the eject tray method and I try doing that and its saying invalid key or something, so ive put the Lite on one back together and I just need help with this Beq, The rben command wont work, Can you tell me exactly what I need to do with iprep, Obviously theres no FW at all on the drive, where exactly do I put the OFW file in iprep coz ive tryed putting it in backups and everything and its not working, When I try to read it says OFW already exists, then when I flash it instead using CFW I type benOFW and its flashing ok, the naks say ok then I get the cprom but its still the same, asking me to play DVD.

The lite-on drive you have to use a ttl converter to get the key with.

oh right, Never mind about the lite on Im gonna leave that one, I really do need this benq fixing, do I need to do anything with this OFW.bin file for use in iprep and if so where do I put it, and rben command is saying bad command, Ive put it away now coz its about 8.30pm, the last flash was easy so today I thought ill get it updated to 1.51 and least ill have it, My girlfriend was even saying to me just leave it, its ok now as it is but as you know better to have it. I thought it would go as smooth as last time but obviosly not, do you think I can sort it mate coz im literally devastated, My night is gonna be so boring now. lol

where do I need to put this OFW, the exact place, does it go in backup folder, Im just not getting to that successfull in green writing part whereas last time it went to that easy.

Rename the benofw.bin to bencfw.bin and put it in the backups/*******/***** folder (where the *'s are your serial number then boot up iprep and type fben ******* ***** (same as before, make sure the numbers match up) and follow the command prompts. You should be up and running in no time. (thats if you want to go back to the official firmware? ) Alternatively load your original firmware jungle flasher and spoof the key into the ixtreme 1.51 then when its made the new firmware copy that to the same place on the iprep usb. (same commands as above)

right ive now got my head round it but theres a problem why I think the rben command isnt working coz theres no rben dos file in the iprep boot stick, only dben and fben, This is why I think im getting bad command

Try using the dben ******* ***** command instead. Ooops just reread your post. There should be a dben.bat file there too. Maybe try and remake your iprep usb.

Ive already created those 2 folders with first part of serial and another inside that with second part of serial and ive copied and pasted OFW.bin file into the last folder, I created the stick back to 1.5 coz I done that fine before. The problem is now theres no Rben dos command file in the main dir of the stick, do I need to use the rben command now ive created these folders ? You mean make a copy of my OFW.bin and rename the copy to CFW.bin and write with this CFW file yeah ?

Thanks for your help fellas, After my last experience I trust you guys a great deal and hope to get it working again, Im gonna have another bash tomorow but Ill be sure to keep checking on here to see if any of you have thought of something.

yeah theres dben and fben but no rben, I know a guy above told me to use the rben command but its saying bad command, this is obviously why coz it dont exist.

Ive also just remade the stick and done the folders and copied and pasted the OFW so you think this will work as normal yeah ? I dont need to try that rename thingy you mention until ive tryed this right, as I wasnt creating those serial folders before maybee this was it eh ? lol
