MG3 wrote:its a sammy spoofed as a hitachii with iXtrene 1.4 so yeah he does to be able to unlock the sammy drive... like you had told me before Sadalius, the spoof is only a very small bit of information that sends the drive key from another drive.
At this point his sammy drive has already been spoofed as a hit 47 and he needs to upgrade from 1.4 to 1.51, all he would need to do is unlock the sammy drive and reflash it, JF would get his correct drive key in the dump and keep the spoof. If he uses iPerp, it might be different and I do not have too much practice in it
he is correct this is essentially what I am trying to do.
originally i wanted to follow this method that haggardsmurf did: "Spoofing steps:
Dump the Firmware from the original drive (would have been your Hitachi drive)
Make sure you have a valid key in your Hitachi firmware (Its valid if its not all repeating letters/numbers)
Download iXtreme 1.51 for Samsung
Open Jungle Flasher
Load your original Hitachi firmware as "Source"
Open your iXtreme 1.51 for Samsung as Target
Click "Spoof Source To Target"
Click "Save to File"
Save it as "Samsung Spoofed as Hitachi" (Or something like that...)
Now what you have done is taken all the identification information from the hitachi firmware and put it in the samsung firmware. So your samsung runs the normal ixtreme firmware, but its identity appears to be the that of the Hitachi.
Now with that bin you just saved, you can use whatever program you would like, and flash that.
If you use iPrep, put it in the 1234567\12345\ folder.
If you use Jungle Flasher (If you dont close it after spoofing) you can just go to the MTK tab and flash. (If you have closed since spoofing the firmwares, then just open your hitachi FW as source, and your 'Samsung Spoofed as Hitachi' as target)
" Yea sorry for the late reply, you would have to rename it to use it in iPrep" this was per this thread
viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4891&st=0&sk=t&sd=a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
now do you think this would work as well? If so, i know for a fact I'd have do the following as well:
viewtopic.php?f=63&t=4351" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Now, if the latter is not needed then, I'll go the original route that mg3 suggested. please advise. thanks
