Yea I pressed eject a lot and it didn't budge. Luckily it wasn't someone's drive, just an extra I got and though that I would try that. Lesson learned: If not a serious situation DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME, LEAVE TO PROFESSIONALS!!!!! :D

Well, I dont really know what to tell you, its likely a FW issue. Did the error happen while you were flashing? If it did you may have corrupted your FW, or have no FW at all on the drive.

To tell you the truth, I can't remember. All I can say is that while using Firmware Toolbox it gave me the error when I guess it was trying to flash. Is it supposed to ask you to put a game or dvd in? I did at one point have the drive showing as an Benq, but it wouldn't do anything in my xbox. So I flashed it back to stock and tried it again but could get anywhere. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.

My 78 took me 5 mins total, theyre a breeze (as long as they havent been flashed prior to this)

sadalius has a video tutorial showing how to flash the 78, its in the tutorial section.

As sadalius said, you will need to dump the BenQ, save its FW. Then hook up the 78, then dump its FW, and save it. Then load the BenQ as source, and the 78 as target, click spoof source to target, then follow the rest of sadalius's tut.

I have a hit 78 with extreme 1.6 that I need to spoof to benq. Do I have to go back to original hitachi firmware first?

Probably should have started your own thread, but yes. You will need to take it back to stock first.

You will need a good key from the BenQ. My best advice is to take your time.

There are some tutorials on how to spoof, but not for a Hit to Benq.

There are some post earlier in this thread that will give you an idea on which direction to go. If you need help just post up.

Hey thanks for the help. Ya I have both sets of orig and hacked firmware for both drives. I'll look for a tut on flashing orig firmware back on hit 78. Thanks again
