Yeah, a usb stick, jump drive, thumb drive, USB flash drive, anyhow you want to call it. You could even use a floppy disk if you wanted to.

no i just removed the via card into this pc...in the vid regarding dosflash...what version of iprep is cifree using,,,mine is the latest....and after he has made a usb boot disk i have less files the him...just need to know what version of i prep he used ? tasadalius wrote:For the flashing part, all you need is a sata connection. The only thing you need the serial ports for is getting the key.bin, inquiry.bin and identify.bin files. So no, you wouldn't need to move it back.
If the computer you used to get those files didn't have a serial port, how did you get those files, USB or something?
hi mate i done that...got to the last part of writing the banks....it is stuck on "writing bank A"......i would prefer to use the same iprep version as in the video....why you ask ?......because when i was making the bootable flash drive using iprep 8,,,i follwed the vid exactly....however when i came to copy the contents of the dos folder in the ixtrem1.5 firmware....it said "dosflah" already exists would you like to overwrite it ?...i choose yes and now im stuck.......also after getting rid of all the files to do with dos in the video...my usb stick had less files the cofrees, as in the vid....my pc is stuck on "flashing bank A"...somethings gone wrong...so can you tell me what version that cofree is using i cant find it anywhere...?..gonna call it a night now...doing my head in..will continue tommorrow...who said it takes 10 mins to flash a liteon,..,more like 10 hours.. lolsadalius wrote:It doesn't matter what version iprep you use. All your wanting to do is make the USB flash drive bootable. Then put the DOS folder in the drive and put your hacked firmware file in the DOS folder. Then boot to it and then flash that drive.
where can i download it from mate..i need to get this done now..as i wont be able to sleep..itll be on my mind..lolCoFree wrote:i use iprep 6.2 when i made the recover video.

what is xbins..lol, and of course it matters...im following the vid guide...and i don not have the same files as in the vid...lol....this is really getting to me now...sadalius wrote:You can download it from xbins. But the version of iprep really doesn't matter as your not using iprep after you boot to the USB flash drive. Your using dosflash.
ok found iprep version 6.2...just tried it... why is it saying "no valid firmware loaded"..when i choose to load the "samsung ix1.5 "firmware....? i thought you could load any firmware as in the video...man this is getiing more riduculous"""sadalius wrote:Look through our 360 download section, I think there is a download for the xbins autodownloader. You can use that to get the older versions of iprep. The only difference would be if you accidentally deleted one of the dos files that were on the flash drive, but if you did that, it wouldn't boot at all. When you flash a lite-on it shouldn't talk about bank A, it numbers the banks 0-3 for a total of 4 banks. Are you sure you selected the right drive through dosflash? When you turned the drive off and sent the MTK vendor commands and then turned the drive back on, did it return the correct drive ID information?
nothing to download at that link...ive had enough mate..im going to bed....now my pc is making a continous beeeping noise when i switch on the power to the ck3 pro with the drive connected....will be back tommorrow...sadalius wrote:You would have to update the iprep definitions before that version will load the 1.5 firmware. Sorry, I should have said something. You should be able to use the update feature in iprep to do that with. If not, download them from here:
