sammy firmware into lite-on drive

Hi Guys, not been here for a while!

I have a Q so forgive me if its been answered before somewhere on here. I have a buddy's lite on 74 console which is not and will never be online. i was wondering if i could open a sammy ms 28 firmware(iX 1.61), spoof it to lite-on 74 then flash it to a lite-on as he is getting fed up of the activate disc. he uses the originals but when his kids playon the console he makes them use the back-ups for obvious reasons Ever seen a disc used like a frisby or skateboard .

No firmware will work in any other drive than that is is intended for.
Therefore
Lite on ixtreme will only work on lite-on's
sammy ixtreme will only work on samsung's
etc...

What you will need to do is spoof the samsung as a lite-on. So you will need to dump the lite-on (or use the OFW if you've dumped it before) Once you have the OFW, open jungle flasher, load the OFW as source, and samsung 1.61 as target, click spoof source to target, then flash with jungle or iPrep.

Now put the sammy in the console, and no activate disk! If you want, you can flash a non-stealth fw, or wait for LT to come out, that way the drive will play any game, any wave.

thanks for the reply man, i thought that you could only use firmware for which drive it was intended but worth a try. I will tell my mate he needs a sammy or benQ drive to make this work, or like you say just wait for LT firmware. Thanks again

I kind of read your post wrong, I thought you were suggesting taking a samsung and putting it in the console.

Anyways, yes he will need one of the other 3 drives, benq samsung or hitachi. If you get a hit, flash 1.51 to it, 1.51 doesnt care about waves.
