Spoofing a Lite-On to a BenQ

Post by MoeMoe »

Here is the situation. I have an old E74 box that has a Benq Drive with IX 1.61 on it. I also have a box with a Lite-On 7xxx ver drive it in. I have my dummy, key, inquiry, etc .bin files. What I have tried thus far is open the latest jungleflasher to create my spoof of Benq iX 1.41 {SS} final rev 4 using my Lite-On info. Here are the steps I took.

1. I opened dummy.bin as source
2. I opened Benq iX 1.41 {SS} final rev 4 as target
3. Clicked spoof source to target.
4. Saved the file as BenCFW.bin.
5. Put a copy in my Backups/1234567/12345 folder
6. Flashed the Benq with this "spoofed" FW using iPrep v008.

The problem is when I put the Benq drive in my system and power on, I get no video and the Quadrant 4 light flashes Red, which is the same light that flashes on a box that has the E74 error. When I put my LiteOn back in, all is fine.

I have also just used FirmwareToolbox 48 and manually created the spoofed firmware, but the end result was the same.

Have I done something wrong??

Hey Moe Moe,

Im adraid i cant help with JF as i find i-prep a lot easier to use,

The quadrant flashing as you probably already know is your spoofing had not worked properly

I-Prep
If you have the key from your liteon drive then you just need to read the FW on your Benq drive and save it to your usb stick

restart your pc and open up the bencfw with firmware toolbox

delete the existing key and paste in your liteon key then click save key.

go to tools menu and i think its called drive spoofing then select liteon and click appy spoof.

you shouls now be able to boot back to your usb stick and flash the benq drive as normal.
