Iprep is stuck on 0x80 when doing dump!

hi to all,
ive gone over textbooks tut and cofree's iprep benq tut, over and over again but to no avail.
i try to dump my orig fw using iprep and usb flash, when i press y to resend mtk, & then turn the 360 on all i get is 0x80
it wont move its stuck on 0x80.
i also had internal stack overflow come up on 2 occasions. ive tried on the internal sata port closest to the front, and also left the 360 on like others have done with this prob.
i have a xbox 360 benq, and a via 6421a
please help ive been trying all night long, only good news i have is noticing i have a falcon motherboard.
i wont be online until later this evening

I know these are obvious things to do & are outlined in the tutorial but I have to ask a few questions.

is your iprep upto date?
&... when you prepared your usb drive with iprep did you select the via card & enable the option "Patch MTKFlash" ??

Stautus - 0x80 = Timeout - The card ain't seeing the drive...

Try a couple of things...

-Ensure you select the correct port (the one iprep hexedits MTKFlash for, this can be a case of trial and error...)

-Try a different SATA cable, can be a problem sometimes

Do you have internal sata on your motherboard?? Try disabling it (unless you use it for RAID)

D1 not flashing (for BenQ) :
What that means is the computer is not seeing the 360 drive.There are many different thing that can be causing this problem.
Chipset will not work.Most sata ports on the mobo will not work.
Try a different port on your sata card.The port closest to the front most of the time is the one to use.
Try a different sata card.This a card that is known to work

Try a different sata cable
Put the sata card in a different pci slot
I would try this just for kicks before the next step.Try a floppy maybe that will do it (don't hold your breath)
You may even need to try a different computer.This is rare how ever it will happen some time.

thanks for reply's, my iprep is up to date. in iprep i have mtk flash enabled, the only card option i have is the via vt6421 raid controller, thats the only one i can choose
i will try it with the via6421 on a different slot,

should i disconnect all sata connections like hard drives ?

sorry to ask total noob question what drivers should i install for the via 6421 i downloaded via 550b but thers so many files which one shall i install ?

my iprep tells me i am to date iprep 101 v006.1, but when i boot from flash in dos i see it says iprep boot disk v0.0.5 at the top, could this be a problem
im pulling my hair out, i'll keep trying different ways

if someone out there has come up against this prop and managed to dump and flash let me now how please

you need to unhook the other drives in your computer.
firmtool will not run after the dump if there is more than 1 sata drive plugged in.

i tried with all 3 sata ports 2 internal & 1 external, i also used a different sata cable and different pci slot, my pc dont have a floppy so i disabled the floppy too, i tried all the above but still no luck
all i get is 0x80 when doing the dump dont know where im going wrong

im gonna try on another pc thats got floppy drive

Seeing as your only dumping, when you get 0x80, try turning the 360 drive off, count to 2 then turn it back on.

thanks to all of you for your help. i managed to flash my 360. i used a different pc which is 7 years old , it does not support usb boot so i used a floppy instead.( i had to go all over town to buy floppies nobody wants to sell them anymore)
everything went smoothly without probs, although the floppy makes you nervous as it takes longer to dump/flash.

just one 1 quick noob question, ive seen cofree's stealth check tut, just wanted to know , when checking from a disc can i put the disc in any dual layer/dvd rom drive or can i only put it in a kreon drive to check its stealth,
ive backed up a few of my originals with my samsung kreon drive,

yes you need to put it in the kreon drive and use xbc program recommended by cofree and check it with that. i am not sure if you could use any other drive for it.

ive not done much stealth checking off the disc(i check before i burn)
xbc should work fine but try all three and let us know how it goes.
i would put the disc to be checked in the sh-d162c dvd drive when checking.

I have a kreon drive & if I need to I check with that but..
I have also checked with my pioneer & the results where the same

Like cofree I rarely check after it is burnt.. always the iso.

i checked my backups with xbc 2.8, schtrom 3.4 and mullter 10.2. the results passed.
i may be wrong but xbc does not check stealth from disc, i extracted the ss using mulleter and checked with kreon checker, good kreon rip is what i got, just like cofree's tut ,
by the way i have a kreon sh-d162d drive, is the sh-d162c the same(better or not) or am i being paranoid.
