Swap Lite-On for Benq & Flash with LT?

Post by hankarlo »

Hi all,
My consoles Lite-On drive is on its last legs, I have a spare Benq drive that I was gona flash with Benq LT. Is it possible to use the Benq drive (with the Lite-On key) as a straight swap/replacement for the old Lite-On. Or do I have to spoof te Benq as a Lite-On. Coz I read somewhere u cant spoof drives with LT firmwares

Cheers & thanx for reading

Apparently spoofing doesn't matter on the new kernel's. Ive heard that all you need to do is inject the key, and flash that. No need to spoof the id's.

Hi, I had the same problem as you except my Lite-On was locked up. So what I did was spoof the Lite-On to a BenQ and flashed the BenQ with 1.61. Then whenever BenQ LT came out, I just flashed the BenQ with LT and used the Lite-On key. Just make sure you have SSV2 on your backups or else you have a really high risk of getting banned.

captain, your box function's fine even without being spoofed? Perfect, then what I read was true.

Thats how I understand it. Just dump your FW, auto load LT, it will inject the key for you, proceed to flashing.

^^^ Yes, I can verify that it is possible. I swapped my lite-on for a benQ and then flashed benQ LT and I now play on live. I have been playing online since the day benQ LT came out. If you have any other questions that I can help with just pm me.

Sorry for the delay in replying guys. I have read somewhere that its not recommended to play on live with a spoofed drive, but i guess this isn't technically spoofing :?: . I only wanted to use the benQ instead of lite-on because of the issue a lot of people have had with not reading back-ups. The Lite-on is a 83v1 so easily dumped in jungleflasher. Just didnt want to chance it as once Lt on there it cannot be dumped unless using MRA method. I may just take a chance and put LT on the Lite-on. Thanks for your help i will let you know what i decide to do and if it works ok. :D

Lots of people have had problems with it not reading backups? The only issues ive ever heard of with a lite-on is that it has trouble with some backups where as other drives with the exact same backup will be able to play it fine.

If you want to test to make sure, try flashing 1.61 or something see if it works with your backups (which it is almost guarentee'd to) if it does, flash LT.

Well playing online with a spoofed drive isnt a big deal (at least it wasnt on >1.61), and with LT, you aren't spoofing, your simply injecting the key into LT.

shaky, if you dump your game with a kreon drive, it will be ssv1, if you use an 0800 drive it will be ssv2. ssv2 is safer online.

Yep, thats what 0800 is, its a benq/samsung flashed with 0800 fw used to dump games.

If you want to be safe online, use a true xbox drive to dump.
